Using Low Voltage MicroGrids for Service Restoration
TL;DR: In this article, a sequence of actions and conditions to be checked during service restoration in the low voltage area are identified and tested through numerical simulation, and the need of storage devices is addressed in order to ensure system stability, achieve robustness of operation, and not jeopardize power quality.
CIGRE WG C4.605 : “Modelling and aggregation of loads in flexible power networks”
Jovica V. Milanovic,Julija Matevosiyan,Anish Gaikwad,Alberto Borghetti,S. Ž. Djokić,Zhao Yang Dong,Andrew Halley,Lidija M. Korunovic,Sergio Martinez Villanueva,Jin Ma,Pouyan Pourbeik,F. O. Resende,Stefan Sterpu,Fortunato Villella,Koji Yamashita,Odin Auer,Karim Karoui,Dimitry Kosterev,Shu Kwan Leung,Dumisani Mtolo,Samila Mat Zali,Adam J. Collin,Yizheng Xu +22 more
TL;DR: This paper summarizes major results of the work of the CIGRE working group on load modeling of new types of load including renewables using measurement data and historical data after two years' activities.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
Control strategies for microgrids emergency operation
João Peças Lopes,Carlos Moreira,André Madureira,F. O. Resende,X. Wu,N. Jayawarna,Y. Zhang,N. Jenkins,F. D. Kanellos,Nikos Hatziargyriou +9 more
TL;DR: In this paper, two possible control strategies were investigated and are described in order to operate a microgrid under emergency mode, and a sequence of actions for a well succeeded black start procedure, involving microgeneration units, has also been identified contributing for an increase in distribution network reliability.
Journal ArticleDOI
Service restoration on distribution systems using Multi‐MicroGrids
TL;DR: In this paper, a new procedure for MMGs black start is defined and evaluated through numerical simulations, and the results demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed sequence of control actions and highlight some accomplishments that should be considered in order to successfully restore the MMG service.
Microgrids black start and islanded operation
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present the control strategies to be used in such a system to deal with islanded operation and to exploit the local generation resources as a way to help in power sys-tem restoration after a general blackout.
