A molecular line scan in the Hubble Deep Field North
Roberto Decarli,Fabian Walter,Chris Carilli,Dominik A. Riechers,Pierre Cox,Roberto Neri,Manuel Aravena,Manuel Aravena,Eric F. Bell,Frank Bertoldi,Dario Colombo,E. da Cunha,Emanuele Daddi,Mark Dickinson,D. Downes,Richard S. Ellis,Lindley Lentati,Roberto Maiolino,Karl M. Menten,H.-W. Rix,Mark Sargent,Daniel P. Stark,Benjamin J. Weiner,Achim Weiss +23 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors presented a molecular line scan in the Hubble Deep Field North (HDF-N) that covers the entire 3mm window (79-115 GHz) using the IRAM Plateau de Bure Interferometer.
Journal ArticleDOI
Dissecting the origin of the submillimetre emission in nearby galaxies with Herschel and LABOCA
Maud Galametz,Maud Galametz,M. Albrecht,Robert C. Kennicutt,G. Aniano,Frank Bertoldi,D. Calzetti,Kevin V. Croxall,Daniel A. Dale,Bruce T. Draine,Charles W. Engelbracht,Charles W. Engelbracht,Karl D. Gordon,J. Hinz,L. K. Hunt,Allison Kirkpatrick,Eric J. Murphy,H. Roussel,Ramin A. Skibba,Fabian Walter,Axel Weiss,Christine D. Wilson +21 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the infrared to submillimetre spectral energy distribution of 11 nearby galaxies of the Key Insights on Nearby Galaxies: A Far-Infrared Survey with Herschel sample using Spitzer and Herschel data and compare model extrapolations at 870μm (using different fitting techniques) with Large APEX BOlometer CAmera (LABOCA) 870 μm observations.
Journal ArticleDOI
Deceptively cold dust in the massive starburst galaxy GN20 at z ∼4
Isabella Cortzen,Georgios E. Magdis,Francesco Valentino,Emanuele Daddi,Daizhong Liu,Dimitra Rigopoulou,Mark Sargent,Dominik Riechers,Diane Cormier,Jacqueline Hodge,Fabian Walter,David Elbaz,Matthieu Béthermin,Thomas R. Greve,Vasily Kokorev,Sune Toft +15 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the atomic neutral carbon transitions [C» I](3P1-3P0) at 492 GHz and [CÕ I (3P2-3p1) at 809 GHz of GN20, a well-studied star-bursting galaxy at z = 4.05, were observed with IRAM NOEMA and showed that the high luminosity line ratio implies an excitation temperature of 48+14-9 K.
Journal ArticleDOI
Large-scale Environment of a z = 6.61 Luminous Quasar Probed by Lyα Emitters and Lyman Break Galaxies
Kazuaki Ota,Bram Venemans,Yoshiaki Taniguchi,Nobunari Kashikawa,Fumiaki Nakata,Yuichi Harikane,Eduardo Bañados,Roderik Overzier,Dominik A. Riechers,Fabian Walter,Jun Toshikawa,Takatoshi Shibuya,Linhua Jiang +12 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the sky distributions, number densities and angular correlation functions were compared with those of Lyman break galaxies (LBGs, massive older galaxies) detected in the same manner and comparable data quality in a control blank field.
Journal ArticleDOI
Triggered Star Formation and the Creation of the Supergiant H I Shell in IC 2574
Daniel R. Weisz,Evan D. Skillman,John M. Cannon,Fabian Walter,Elias Brinks,Jürgen Ott,Andrew E. Dolphin +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, deep imaging from the Advanced Camera for Surveys aboard the Hubble Space Telescope (HST) was used to detect stellar feedback that created a supergiant H I shell and triggered star formation around its rim in the M81 Group dwarf irregular galaxy IC 2574.
