Galaxy Evolution and Star Formation Efficiency at 0.2 < z < 0.6
Francoise Combes,Santiago García-Burillo,Jonathan Braine,Eva Schinnerer,Fabian Walter,L. Colina +5 more
TL;DR: In this article, a CO line survey of 30 galaxies at moderate redshift (z \sim 0.2-0.6), with the IRAM 30m telescope, with the goal to follow galaxy evolution and in particular the star formation efficiency (SFE) as defined by the ratio between far-infrared luminosity and molecular gas mass (LFIR/M(H2)).
Journal ArticleDOI
Resolved [C II] Emission from z > 6 Quasar Host─Companion Galaxy Pairs
Journal ArticleDOI
Measuring Quasar Variability with Pan-STARRS1 and SDSS
E. Morganson,W. S. Burgett,K. C. Chambers,Paul J. Green,Nick Kaiser,E. A. Magnier,Philip J. Marshall,John Morgan,P. A. Price,H. W. Rix,E. F. S Chlafly,John L. Tonry,Fabian Walter +12 more
TL;DR: This paper measured quasar variability using the Panoramic Survey Telescope and Rapid Response System 1 Survey (Pan-STARRS1 or PS1) and the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) and established a method of selecting quasars via their variability in 10,000 square degree surveys.
Journal ArticleDOI
EVLA observations of a proto-cluster of molecular gas rich galaxies at z = 4.05
Chris Carilli,Jacqueline Hodge,Fabian Walter,Dominik Riechers,E. Daddi,Helmut Dannerbauer,G. Morrison +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the GN20 proto-cluster of galaxies was detected using the expanded very large array (EVLA) for CO 2-1 emission, with gas masses (H$_2$) between $10^{10}$ and $10''11} \times (\alpha/0.8)$ M$_\odot$
Journal ArticleDOI
A Total Molecular Gas Mass Census in z~2-3 Star-forming Galaxies: Low-J CO Excitation Probes of Galaxies' Evolutionary States
Chelsea E. Sharon,Dominik Riechers,Jacqueline Hodge,Chris Carilli,Fabian Walter,Axel Weiss,Kirsten Kraiberg Knudsen,Jeff Wagg +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present CO(1-0) observations obtained at the Karl G. Jansky Very Large Array (VLA) for 14 z~2 galaxies with existing CO(3-2) measurements, including 11 galaxies which contain active galactic nuclei (AGN) and three submillimeter galaxies (SMGs).
