A new approach to harmonic compensation in power systems-a combined system of shunt passive and series active filters
TL;DR: In this article, a combined system of a shunt passive filter and a small rated series active filter was proposed to compensate for harmonics in power systems, and the results showed that the combined system was far superior in efficiency to conventional shunt active filters.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
A generalized multilevel inverter topology with self voltage balancing
TL;DR: This paper presents a generalized multilevel inverter (converter) topology with self voltage balancing that provides a true multileVEL structure that can balance each DC voltage level automatically without any assistance from other circuits, thus in principle providing a complete and trueMultilevel topology that embraces the existing multilesvel inverters.
Journal ArticleDOI
Impedance-Source Networks for Electric Power Conversion Part I: A Topological Review
TL;DR: This review paper is the first of its kind with the aim of providing a “one-stop” information source and a selection guide on impedance-source networks for power conversion for researchers, designers, and application engineers.
Journal ArticleDOI
Control for Grid-Connected and Intentional Islanding Operations of Distributed Power Generation
TL;DR: An intelligent load-shedding algorithm for intentional islanding and an algorithm of synchronization for grid reconnection to implement grid-connected and intentional-islanding operations of distributed power generation are proposed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Application issues of active power filters
TL;DR: In this article, the authors have characterized common nonlinear loads have been characterized into two types of harmonic sources, current-source type of harmonic source and voltage source type of source, and discussed the compensation characteristics of both parallel active filters and series active filters.
