TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed a specific methodology based on AHP multicriteria approach to analyze and assess operational risk within the port terminals at the RO-RO activity, after detection of the inherent risk of process and estimation of the both gravity and level of mastery they judge against two approaches in order to identify the most critical risks and to establish preventive measures.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors analyze and assess risk factors within the dry port-seaport system using a multi-criteria approach and find that risk factors in rail connection are the most important and need a greater governmental concern.
Abstract: The successful accomplishment of dry port-seaport system logistics activities is relatively difficult due to involvement of different risks. These risks and their respective sources have a tendency to disturb the system functioning. Risk management is one of the critical processes. An error can cost the dry port-seaport system too much. The aim of this paper is to analyze and assess risk factors within the dry port-seaport system using a multi-criteria approach. In this research, an effort has been made to collect the proces ’s risk factors. Our methodology is based on three steps. As results, risk factorsin rail connection are the most important and need a greater governmental concern. the findingswould be useful for industries in managing and reducing the consequences of the risks in dry port-seaport system.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors review the dry port concept over the different phases and provide a clear vision on the concept development and the advantages that can be added to the seaport and transportation flow.
Abstract: Dry port plays an important role in supply chain management and mitigates seaport problems. The aim of this paper is to review the dry port concept over the different phases. Today there are different types of dry ports, different interpretations on the dry port life cycle, and different relations with seaport. We will provide a clear vision on the concept development and the advantages that can be added to the seaport and transportation flow. Then, the study will show the evolution of the research community interest on the concept. In the first step, we will briefly present all the challenges faced by seaports today. Next, we will undertake a systematic literature review in order to provide a global vision able to answer questions concerning dry port concept, types, research evolution. Finally, we will present some research topics that open for us at the dry port seaport system.

TL;DR: In this article, a multi-criteria hierarchical model framework using MACBETH for dry port-seaport system has been developed, which can be used by managers at different levels of the system.
Abstract: Dry port-seaport services are key elements of a multimodal transport. They represent the needed infrastructure for its development. In this case, evaluating and improving their performance is necessary to achieve international competitiveness. The purpose of this paper is to develop a new model of performance measurement for the dry port-seaport system. To this aim, we have consolidated available researches and existing studies in order to identify and develop our proposed model framework. In this paper, a multi-criteria hierarchical model framework using MACBETH for dry port-seaport system has been developed. This framework can be used by managers at different levels of the system. The proposed model has been developed by exploring measurement gaps in multimodal transport field and by discovering prospective options from this area. The results and the methodology are practical. We obtain the global performance level of our involved system using our methodology, which can help managers in taken decisions and increase global performance of this system.

TL;DR: In this paper, a framework combining lean manufacturing principles and fuzzy bow-tie analyses is used to assess process risks in chemical industry, which can effectively improve the risk management process in the chemical industry.
Abstract: In this research, a framework combining lean manufacturing principles and fuzzy bow-tie analyses is used to assess process risks in chemical industry. Lean manufacturing tools and techniques are widely used for eliminating wastes in manufacturing environments. The five principles of lean (identify value, map the value stream, create flow, establish pull, and seek perfection) are utilized in the risk assessment process. Lean tools such as Fishbone Diagram, and Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) are used for risk analysis and mitigation. Lean principles and tools are combined with bow-tie analysis for effective risk assessment process. The uncertainty inherent with the risks is handled using fuzzy logic principles. A case study from a chemical process industry is provided. Main risks and risk factors are identified and analyzed by the risk management team. Fuzzy estimates are obtained for the risk factors and bow-tie analysis is used to calculate the aggregated risk probability and impact. The risks are prioritized using risk priority matrix and mitigation strategies are selected based on FMEA. Results showed that the proposed framework can effectively improve the risk management process in the chemical industry.
