Increasing frequencies of site-specific mutagenesis and gene targeting in Arabidopsis by manipulating DNA repair pathways

TL;DR: This study sought to enhance ZFN-mediated targeted mutagenesis and gene targeting in Arabidopsis by manipulating DNA repair pathways by analyzing repair outcomes in the absence of DNA repair proteins such as KU70 and LIG4.
Journal ArticleDOI

Zinc-finger-nucleases mediate specific and efficient excision of HIV-1 proviral DNA from infected and latently infected human T cells

TL;DR: It is demonstrated that a single ZFN-LTR pair can specifically and effectively cleave integrated full-length HIV-1 proviral DNA and mediate antiretroviral activity in infected and latently infected cells, suggesting that this strategy could offer a novel approach to eradicate the HIV- 1 virus from the infected host in the future.
Journal ArticleDOI

Direct stacking of sequence-specific nuclease-induced mutations to produce high oleic and low linolenic soybean oil

TL;DR: The methods presented here provide an efficient means for using sequence-specific nucleases to stack quality traits in soybean and comprised oleic acid levels above 80 % and linoleic and linolenic Acid levels below 3 %.
Journal ArticleDOI

Meta-analysis of genome-wide association studies confirms a susceptibility locus for knee osteoarthritis on chromosome 7q22

Evangelos Evangelou, +76 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a meta-analysis was performed of four genome-wide association (GWA) studies of 2371 cases of knee OA and 35 909 controls in Caucasian populations.
