Free vibration response of two-dimensional magneto-electro-elastic laminated plates

TL;DR: In this article, an approximate solution for the free vibration problem of two-dimensional magneto-electro-elastic laminates is presented to determine their fundamental behavior, which is composed of linear homogeneous elastic, piezoelectric, or magnetostrictive layers with perfect bonding between each interface.
Journal ArticleDOI

Static analysis of functionally graded elastic anisotropic plates using a discrete layer approach

TL;DR: In this article, an approximate solution for the static analysis of three-dimensional, anisotropic, elastic plates composed of functionally graded materials (FGM) is presented by using a discrete layer theory in combination with the Ritz method in which the plate is divided into an arbitrary number of homogeneous and/or FGM layers.
Journal ArticleDOI

Discrete Layer Solution to Free Vibrations of Functionally Graded Magneto-Electro-Elastic Plates

TL;DR: In this paper, the natural frequencies of orthotropic magneto-electro-elastic (MEL) graded composite plates are determined using a discrete layer model with two different approaches: the functions describing the gradation of the materials properties through the thickness of the plate are incorporated into the governing equations, and the plate is divided into a finite number of homogeneous layers.
Journal ArticleDOI

Experimental evaluation of physical and mechanical properties of Glued Laminated Guadua angustifolia Kunth

TL;DR: In this paper, a comprehensive study was conducted in order to determine selected physical and mechanical properties of Glued Laminated Guadua angustifolia Kunth, providing a proper characterization which, in turn, represents a technical framework for structural design values.
Journal ArticleDOI

Evaluation of activated high volume fly ash systems using Na2SO4, lime and quicklime in mortars with high loss on ignition fly ashes

TL;DR: In this paper, a sieving process is used to regulate the fly ash composition, which has an effect in the chemistry and reaction of the mix and shows the importance of the amorphous content of fly ash with respect to achieving a high compressive strength.
