Journal ArticleDOI

Dietary Antioxidant Compounds and Liver Health

TL;DR: Results available up to now suggest that lycopene-rich foods could be proposed in therapeutic treatment of some liver pathologies, on the other hand contradictory results have been obtained with α-tocopherol, β -carotene and trans-resveratrol.
Journal ArticleDOI

Long-term albumin administration in decompensated cirrhosis (ANSWER): an open-label randomised trial.

Paolo Caraceni, +92 more
- 16 Jun 2018 -

Journal ArticleDOI

International genome-wide meta-analysis identifies new primary biliary cirrhosis risk loci and targetable pathogenic pathways

Heather J. Cordell, +477 more
TL;DR: This work discovers and validate six previously unknown risk loci for PBC and used pathway analysis to identify JAK-STAT/IL12/IL27 signalling and cytokine–cytokine pathways, for which relevant therapies exist.
Journal ArticleDOI

Coffee reduces liver damage in a rat model of steatohepatitis: the underlying mechanisms and the role of polyphenols and melanoidins.

TL;DR: It is demonstrated that coffee consumption protects the liver from damage caused by a high‐fat diet, mediated by a reduction in hepatic fat accumulation; systemic and liver oxidative stress; liver inflammation; and expression and concentrations of proteins and cytokines related to inflammation.
