Incidence and Predictors of Early and Late Mortality After Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation in 663 Patients With Severe Aortic Stenosis
Corrado Tamburino,Davide Capodanno,Angelo Ramondo,Anna Sonia Petronio,Federica Ettori,Gennaro Santoro,Silvio Klugmann,Francesco Bedogni,Francesco Maisano,Antonio Marzocchi,Arnaldo Poli,David Antoniucci,Massimo Napodano,Marco De Carlo,Claudia Fiorina,Gian Paolo Ussia +15 more
TL;DR: Benefit of TAVI with the CoreValve Revalving System is maintained over time up to 1 year, with acceptable mortality rates at various time points, although procedural complications are strongly associated with early mortality at 30 days.
Journal ArticleDOI
The double-orifice technique in mitral valve repair: a simple solution for complex problems.
Ottavio Alfieri,Francesco Maisano,Michele De Bonis,Pierluigi Stefàno,Lucia Torracca,Michele Oppizzi,Giovanni La Canna +6 more
TL;DR: The effectiveness and durability of the central double-orifice technique were assessed and it was found that this type of repair can be a useful addition to the surgical armamentarium in mitral valve reconstruction.

Mohr,Patrick Nataf,Luc Pierard,José Luis Pomar,Joachim Schofer,Pilar Tornos,Murat Tuzcu,Ben van Hout,Ludwig K. von Segesser,Thomas Walther +23 more
TL;DR: Transcatheter aortic valve implantation is a promising technique, which may offer an alternative to conventional surgery for high-risk patients with aorta stenosis and may be extended to lower risk patients if the initial promise holds to be true after careful evaluation.

Percutaneous Mitral Valve Interventions in the Real World: Early and 1-Year Results From the ACCESS-EU, A Prospective, Multicenter, Nonrandomized Post-Approval Study of the MitraClip Therapy in Europe
Francesco Maisano,Olaf Franzen,Stephan Baldus,Ulrich Schäfer,Jörg Hausleiter,Christian Butter,Gian Paolo Ussia,Horst Sievert,Gert Richardt,Julian D. Widder,Tiziano Moccetti,Wolfgang Schillinger +11 more
TL;DR: In the real-world, post-approval experience in Europe, patients undergoing the MitraClip therapy are high-risk, elderly patients, mainly affected by functional MR, and in this patient population, the MitRAClip procedure is effective with low rates of hospital mortality and adverse events.
