TL;DR: In this article, the authors argue that legal obligations to conserve endangered species may be useless if the rule of law is not properly enforced, and that such situation is not exclusive to countries with political instability or weak institutional capacities but can also be relevant to member states of the European Union and therefore bound to European legislation on nature conservation.

A New Method for Noninvasive Genetic Sampling of Saliva in Ecological Research.

TL;DR: A noninvasive method of collection that combines baits and porous materials able to capture saliva that could advantageously allow detection of socially low-ranked individuals underrepresented in sources of DNA that are involved in marking behaviour (faeces or urine).
