Journal ArticleDOI

The effect of ultrasound on the particle size and structural disorder of a well-ordered kaolinite.

TL;DR: Investigating the effect of sonication on the particle size and structure of a well-crystallized (KGa-1) kaolinite from Georgia showed that particle-size reduction can be controlled through different variables such as power of ultrasonic processor, amount of sample, and time of treatment.
Journal ArticleDOI

Phase transformation on heating of an aged cement paste

TL;DR: In this article, the authors compared the results of SH (fresh paste) and of TG (the aged one), to verify the assumptions made on SH interpretation and to check the change in hydration products with ageing as measured by phase transformation on heating (M versus the final mass).
Journal ArticleDOI

Particle-size reduction of dickite by ultrasound treatments: Effect on the structure, shape and particle-size distribution

TL;DR: In this article, the effects of ultrasound treatment on dickite from Tragos, Mangualde, in Portugal, were reported, where the elongated crystals observed in the sample are broken up, after their treatment, along the cleavage planes 001 and 110, mainly along the largest direction (a axis), into smaller units that retain the typical lamellar morphology of the starting crystals.
Journal ArticleDOI

CuO-CeO2 supported on montmorillonite-derived porous clay heterostructures (PCH) for preferential CO oxidation in H2-rich stream

TL;DR: In this paper, the preparation and characterization of porous clay heterostructures (PCH) as a high-surface area support for CuO-CeO 2 based catalysts for the preferential oxidation of CO in excess of H 2 (CO-PROX) was reported.
Journal ArticleDOI

Montmorillonite based porous clay heterostructures: Influence of Zr in the structure and acidic properties

TL;DR: In this article, the texture, structure and acidic properties of the obtained PCH samples were characterized by SEM, BET, XRD, FTIR, DTA-TG, NH3-TPD and 1-butene isomerization.
