TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of 12 weeks of physical activity practice on the perception of the quality of life of individuals with special needs was assessed, and the results obtained in the present study showed that the quality-life of Active people with special need was better than that of the Sedentary ones.
Abstract: The positive effects of regular physical activity practice are not restricted to physical well being. Quality of life regards the overall sense of well-being of an individual in relation to the multiple aspects of his/her life. People with special needs may present high levels of sedentarism, which has a remarkable influence on their self-perceived quality of life. Therefore, the objective of the present study was to assess the effect of 12 weeks of physical activity practice on the perception of the quality of life of individuals with special needs. 20 male individuals with physical disabilities participated in the study. They were divided into two groups, Sedentary and Active. The instruments used were a questionnaire on demographic data and the World Health Organization Quality of Life (WHOQOL-Brief ). Mean age of the volunteers was 38.1 years, they were single, had not finished elementary school and lived in their own house. Most of them had poliomyelitis. The Active group presented higher scores in all domains of the instrument (physical, psychological, social and environmental). The results obtained in the present study showed that the quality of life of Active people with special needs was better than that of the Sedentary ones. Consequently, we strongly recommend that people with physical disabilities be encouraged to participate in physical and/or sports activity programs regularly.

TL;DR: In this article, a study of 64 atletas of oito different esportes was conducted at the Centros de Treinamento Paraolimpicos no Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, and Recife.

Abstract: Thank you for downloading using multivariate statistics. As you may know, people have look hundreds times for their favorite novels like this using multivariate statistics, but end up in infectious downloads. Rather than reading a good book with a cup of tea in the afternoon, instead they juggled with some harmful bugs inside their laptop. using multivariate statistics is available in our digital library an online access to it is set as public so you can download it instantly. Our books collection saves in multiple locations, allowing you to get the most less latency time to download any of our books like this one. Merely said, the using multivariate statistics is universally compatible with any devices to read.

TL;DR: This article found that the inability to cope with stress is a significant factor in athletes’ performance failures in competitive sport, and that adolescents must learn how to deal with stress and respond positively to setbacks if they wish to pursue careers in elite adult sport.
Abstract: Participation in competitive sport during adolescence has the potential to be extremely stressful (Goyen & Anshel, 1998). However, little is known about how young athletes cope with the stressors associated with their competitive sport involvement (Crocker & Isaak, 1997). There is a limitation of research findings to date because the inability to cope with stress is a significant factor in athletes’ performance failures (Lazarus, 2000). Adolescent athletes must learn how to cope with stress and respond positively to setbacks if they wish to pursue careers in elite adult sport (Holt & Dunn, 2004).

TL;DR: In this article, the authors show that expert and exceptional performance are mediated by cognitive and perceptual-motor skills and by domain-specific physiological and anatomical adaptations, and that the highest levels of human performance in different domains can only be attained after around ten years of extended, daily amounts of deliberate practice activities.
Abstract: Expert and exceptional performance are shown to be mediated by cognitive and perceptual-motor skills and by domain-specific physiological and anatomical adaptations. The highest levels of human performance in different domains can only be attained after around ten years of extended, daily amounts of deliberate practice activities. Laboratory analyses of expert performance in many domains such as chess, medicine, auditing, computer programming, bridge, physics, sports, typing, juggling, dance, and music reveal maximal adaptations of experts to domain-specific constraints. For example, acquired anticipatory skills circumvent general limits on reaction time, and distinctive memory skills allow a domain-specific expansion of working memory capacity to support planning, reasoning, and evaluation. Many of the mechanisms of superior expert performance serve the dual purpose of mediating experts' current performance and of allowing continued improvement of this performance in response to informative feedback during practice activities.

TL;DR: The results suggest that performance in the CMJ is not a sensitive variable to the fatigue caused by intensification of training loads during a pre-competitive period in volleyball, whereas CK, TQR and RESTQ-Sport were shown to be sensitive measures.
Abstract: The aim of this study was to test the sensitivity of; performance in the countermovement vertical Jump (CMJ); the Recovery and Stress Questionnaire for Athletes (RESTQ-Sport); the Total Quality Recovery Scale (TQR) and the creatine kinase (CK) to the deliberate intensification of volleyball training loads. For this purpose 8 athletes underwent a training period (FP) of 11 days of deliberate training load (TL) intensification followed by a second period (SP) of 14 days of reduction of loads (IT group). A further 8 athletes continued training with normal TL (NT group). Both groups were tested before the FP (baseline), after the FP and after the SP. The TL evaluated using the session rating of perceived exertion method (session-RPE) was higher after the FP compared to the SP, and higher in the IT group, compared to the NT group. The CMJ did not change in either group (p > 0.05). In the IT group, the RESTQ-Sport was altered after the FP compared to both the baseline and the SP (p < 0.05), while no change was observed in the NT group. In the IT group, the CK increased and the TQR decreased after the FP compared to both the baseline and after the SP and were higher and lower, respectively, than the NT group (p < 0.05). The results suggest that performance in the CMJ is not a sensitive variable to the fatigue caused by intensification of training loads during a pre-competitive period in volleyball, whereas CK, TQR and RESTQ-Sport were shown to be sensitive measures. Key PointsThe RESTQ-Sport and the TQR scales were sensitive to deliberate intensification of training loads during the pre-competitive period in volleyball athletes; The CK can be used to complement this monitoring; The CMJ performance was not sensitive to deliberate intensification of training loads in volleyball athletes.
