TCF7L2, dietary carbohydrate, and risk of type 2 diabetes in US women

TL;DR: Carohydrate quality and quantity modified risk of T2D associated with TCF7L2 is modified by the glycemic load, glycemic index, cereal fiber content, and total carbohydrate content of the diet, which suggests that changes in risk attributable to the TCF 7L2 variant are magnified under conditions of increased insulin demand.
Journal ArticleDOI

Dietary Patterns During Adolescence and Risk of Type 2 Diabetes in Middle-Aged Women

TL;DR: A Western dietary pattern during adolescence may increase risk of T2DM in later life, partly through adult weight gain, and preventive measures should be aimed at developing healthy dietary habits that begin in early life and continue through adulthood.
Journal ArticleDOI

Are diet quality scores after breast cancer diagnosis associated with improved breast cancer survival

TL;DR: It is suggested that adherence to a higher quality diet after breast cancer diagnosis does not considerably change the risk of breast cancer death and recurrence, and healthy dietary choices after breastcancer were associated with reduced risk of nonbreast cancer mortality in women with breast cancer.
