Journal ArticleDOI

DNA strand breaks induced by 0-4 eV electrons: the role of shape resonances.

TL;DR: Collisions of 0-4 eV electrons with thin DNA films are shown to produce single strand breaks, which support aspects of a theoretical study by Barrios et al. indicating that such a mechanism could produce strand breaks in DNA.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effective Cross Sections for Production of Single-Strand Breaks in Plasmid DNA by 0.1 to 4.7 eV Electrons

TL;DR: Panajojovic et al. as discussed by the authors determined effective cross sections for production of singlestrand breaks in plasmid DNA [pGEM 3Zf(-)] by electrons of 10 eV and energies between 0.1 and 4.7 eV.
