TL;DR: The Kepler mission was designed to determine the frequency of Earth-sized planets in and near the habitable zone of Sun-like stars, which is the region where planetary temperatures are suitable for water to exist on a planet's surface.
Journal ArticleDOI

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used the Space Telescope Imaging Spectrograph (STIS) on board the Hubble Space Telescope, Ks (2.15?m) imaging with ADONIS at the 3.6 m telescope at La Silla, and mid-infrared imaging with OSCIR using the 4 m Blanco Telescope at Cerro Tololo Inter-American Observatory confirm the detection of the disk reported by Pantin et al. at Ks.
Journal ArticleDOI
Hubble Space Telescope Space Telescope Imaging Spectrograph Coronagraphic Imaging of the Herbig Ae Star AB Aurigae
Carol A. Grady,Bruce E. Woodgate,Frederick C. Bruhweiler,A. Boggess,P. Plait,Don J. Lindler,Mark Clampin,Paul Kalas +7 more
TL;DR: The first broadband, coronagraphic Hubble Space Telescope images of the bright, optically visible, isolated Herbig Ae star AB Aurigae have been presented in this article, revealing extended circumstellar nebulosity (r ≈ 1300 AU) covering the region of the millimeter continuum and CO disk.
Journal ArticleDOI
STIS Coronagraphic Imaging of the Herbig Ae Star: HD 163296
Carol A. Grady,David Devine,Bruce E. Woodgate,Randy A. Kimble,Frederick C. Bruhweiler,A. Boggess,J. L. Linsky,P. Plait,Mark Clampin,Paul Kalas +9 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors used the Space Telescope Imaging Spectrograph on board the Hubble Space Telescope to reveal a ~450 AU radius circumstellar disk around the Herbig Ae star HD 163296.
Journal ArticleDOI

TL;DR: In this article, the authors presented the multi-wavelength spectrum of the gamma-ray blazar for both quiescent and flaring states and discussed the data in terms of current models of blazar emission.
