Journal ArticleDOI
An improved synthesis of 5,15-diaryloctaalkylporphyrins
TL;DR: In this article, an aromatic aldehyde and bis(3-ethyl-4-methyl-2-pyrrolyl)-methane were obtained from acetonitrile in the presence of a catalytic amount of trichloroacetic acid, followed by p-chloranil oxidation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Synthesis of strapped, dimeric, and trimeric porphyrins based on intramolecular macrocyclization reactions
TL;DR: In this article, coplanar and orthogonal (T-shape) porphyrin geometries were synthesized for the acid-catalyzed condensation reaction of 3,3′-diethyl-4,4′-dimethyl-2,2′)-dipyrrylmethane bridged dialdehydes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Long-lived charge separated states from distance fixed triads consisting of zinc porphyrin, free-base porphyrin, and pyromellitimide
Atsuhiro Osuka,Toshi Nagata,Fumikazu Kobayashi,Run Ping Zhang,Kazuhiro Maruyama,Noboru Mataga,Tsuyoshi Asahi,Takeshi Ohno,Koichi Nozaki +8 more
TL;DR: In this article, the lifetime of (ZnP + -H 2 P-(Im) − state is dependent upon distances between the charges and the structures of linkage between the ZnP and H 2 P.
Journal ArticleDOI
Geometry- and solvent-polarity-dependent photoinduced electron transfer in conformationally restricted magnesium—free-base hybrid diporphyrins
Atsuhiro Osuka,Fumikazu Kobayashi,Kazuhiro Maruyama,Noboru Mataga,Tsuyoshi Asahi,Tadashi Okada,Iwao Yamazaki,Yoshinobu Nishimura +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, the photoexcited state dynamics of a series of conformationally restricted hybrid diporphyrins (MgPH 2 P) have been studied by fluorescence lifetime measurement and picosecond time-resolved transient absorption spectroscopy.
Journal ArticleDOI
Salen-Capped Porphyrins as an Active Site Model of Metalloenzymes: Synthesis and Their Intramolecular Interactions between the Metal Complexes
TL;DR: In this paper, reversible Schiff base condensation of bis(salicylaldehyde)-linked porphyrins and ethylenediamine under high dilution gave salen-capped porphrin in high yields Site selective insertion of nickel(II) into the salen and zinc(II), into the porphin gave the corresponding Ni-Zn heterobinuclear complexes, and the geometrical relationship between the two metal centers was estimated by 1H NMR spectroscopy.
