Journal Article
Placebo-controlled study of mycophenolate mofetil combined with cyclosporine and corticosteroids for prevention of acute rejection
Josep M. Grinyó,Carl-Gustav Groth,Rudolf Pichlmayr,Sa Sadek,Yves Vanrenterghem,M Behrend,R Luck,Francesc Moreso,J Peeters,J Rodicio,J Morales,Dagfinn Albrechtsen,P Fauchald,Sameh S. Sadek,J. P. A. Lodge,Jp Soulillou,Diego Cantarovich,van Willem Son,Adam Tegzess,Karl-Heinz Wagner,J Erhard,Christina Brattström,Lars Mjörnstedt,M. Wiesel,S. Carl,Hh Neumayer,Hauser,Peter Lang,B Bourgeon,Gunnar Tufveson,G. Gannedahl,Henrik Ekberg,N. Persson,A Tarantino,M Campise,G Thiel,M Zeiler,R Hene,G Ligtenberg,A Morgan,K Rigg,Hooftman L,K Hutchinson +42 more
TL;DR: MMF significantly reduced the rate of biopsy-proven rejection or other treatment failure during the first 6 months after transplantation and was well tolerated, although the 3 g dose was somewhat less well tolerated.
Journal ArticleDOI
New immunosuppressants: testing and development in animal models and the clinic: with special reference to DSG.
TL;DR: New immunosuppressants: testing and development in animal models and the clinic: with special reference to DSG.
Journal ArticleDOI
Role of antibody synthesis and complement activation in concordant xenograft retransplantation.
G. Gannedahl,Alex Karlsson-Parra,A Wallgren,E Roos-Engstrand,Bo Nilsson,Thomas H. Tötterman,Gunnar Tufveson +6 more
TL;DR: In conclusion, xenograft transplantation in a concordant situation results in a shift of antidonor antibody Ig synthesis from IgM to IgG, and if complement is also depleted, the survival of the second graft is prolonged.
Journal ArticleDOI
Rejection associated with early appearance of donor-reactive antibodies after kidney transplantation treated with plasmapheresis and administration of 15-deoxyspergualin. A report of two cases.
G. Gannedahl,S. Ohlman,U. Persson,S. Gudmundsson,Erik G. Larsson,Gunnar Tydén,Thomas H. Tötterman,B. Wikström,L. Weiss,Carl-Gustav Groth,Gunnar Tufveson +10 more
TL;DR: In two kidney transplant patients, one of whom had panel-reactive antibodies (PRA) before transplantation, a pretransplant negative donor-recipient crossmatch became positive within the 1st week after transplantation and has since remained that way.
Journal ArticleDOI
Successful retransplantation of mouse-to-rat cardiac xenografts under immunosuppressive monotherapy with cyclosporine.
Cecilia Johnsson,Arne Andersson,Adam Bersztel,Alex Karlsson-Parra,G. Gannedahl,Gunnar Tufveson +5 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that unresponsiveness can be induced by effective immunosuppression of the recipient at the time of the initial transplantation, so that retransplantation with a second xenograft can be performed successfully under single-drug immunosppressive therapy with CsA.
