TL;DR: The homolytic reaction of dibutyl ether with dialkylmaleates leads primarily to the formation of dialkylesters of butylsuccinic and butanoylsuccic acids as mentioned in this paper.
Abstract: 1.
α-Butoxybutyl radicals, formed during the reaction of dibutyl ether with tertiary butyl peroxide are effectively decomposed at a temperature >120°C to butyl radicals and butanal.
2.
The homolytic reaction of dibutylether with dialkylmaleates leads primarily to the formation of dialkylesters of butylsuccinic and butanoylsuccinic acids. Dibutylether reacts analogously with diethylfumarate.
