Journal ArticleDOI

Scattering through fluids: speckle size measurement and Monte Carlo simulations close to and into the multiple scattering

TL;DR: Measurements in transmission of the speckle produced by scattering liquid media: diluted milk and water solutio ns of polystyrene-microspheres of different diameters are reported and a method to differentiate media is proposed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Backscattered speckle size as a function of polarization: influence of particle-size and -concentration

TL;DR: Backscattering measure-ments of the speckle produced by strongly-scattering liquid media shows that the size of the backscattered Speckle depends on scattering and anisotropy coefficients.
Journal ArticleDOI

Analysis of the depolarizing properties of irradiated pig skin

TL;DR: In this paper, the polarimetric properties of pig skin samples were experimentally investigated, and the Mueller matrices were measured at different wavelengths, showing that both increase of irradiation rate and reduction of wavelengths decreased the depolarization.
Journal ArticleDOI

Decomposition algorithm of an experimental Mueller matrix

TL;DR: In this article, a decomposition of any Mueller matrix into simple elements is proposed to characterize the intrinsic depolarization of the optical system under study, which can be used to distinguish the experimental noise from the intrinsic decomposition.
Journal ArticleDOI

Mueller matrix decomposition for biological tissue analysis

TL;DR: In this paper, the optimal experimental conditions to study irradiated pig skin samples are analyzed using two Mueller matrix decomposition techniques, the one developed by Lu and Chipman and the other by Ossikovski.
