Investigation on AISI 304 austenitic stainless steel to AISI 4140 low alloy steel dissimilar joints by gas tungsten arc, electron beam and friction welding

TL;DR: In this article, the microstructure and mechanical properties of AISI 304 stainless steel and low alloy steel joints by Gas Tungsten Arc Welding, Electron Beam Welding (EBW), and Friction Welding were investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Microstructure and mechanical properties of alloy C-276 weldments fabricated by continuous and pulsed current gas tungsten arc welding techniques

TL;DR: In this article, the effects of switching over from gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) to pulsed current Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (PCGTAw) on the quality of joints produced in Hastelloy C-276 material were investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI

High temperature corrosion studies on friction welded low alloy steel and stainless steel in air and molten salt environment at 650 °C

TL;DR: In this paper, the performance of friction welded low alloy steel AISI 4140 and stainless steel 304 in air as well as molten salt environment of Na2SO4-60%V2O5 and NaCl-50%Na2SO 4 at 650°C was investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Optimization of the Pulsed Current Gas Tungsten Arc Welding Process Parameters for alloy C-276 using the Taguchi Method☆

TL;DR: In this paper, a L9 orthogonal array of Taguchi design involving nine experiments for four parameters (pulsed current, background current, % on time, pulse frequency) with three levels was used to bead on welding trials to optimize Pulsed Current Gas Tungsten Arc (PCGTA) welding process parameters.
