Journal ArticleDOI
Proteome analysis of whole saliva: A new tool for rheumatic diseases – the example of Sjögren's syndrome
Laura Giusti,Chiara Baldini,Laura Bazzichi,Federica Ciregia,Ilaria Tonazzini,G. Mascia,Gino Giannaccini,Stefano Bombardieri,Antonio Lucacchini +8 more
TL;DR: The WS protein pattern was altered in pSS patients compared to controls, with a decrease in some of the typical salivary proteins, and a set of differentially expressed proteins were related to acute and chronic inflammation while some others were involved in oxidative stress injury.
Journal ArticleDOI
Characterization of thyroglobulin epitopes in patients with autoimmune and non-autoimmune thyroid diseases using recombinant human monoclonal thyroglobulin autoantibodies
Francesco Latrofa,Debora Ricci,Lucia Grasso,Paolo Vitti,Lucio Masserini,Fulvio Basolo,Clara Ugolini,G. Mascia,Antonio Lucacchini,Aldo Pinchera +9 more
TL;DR: The pattern of Tg recognition is similar when HT patients are compared to GD and NTMG to PTC patients and differs when AITD are compared with non-AITD patients.
Journal ArticleDOI
The trace element content of top-soil and wild edible mushroom samples collected in Tuscany, Italy.
Gino Giannaccini,Laura Betti,Lionella Palego,G. Mascia,Lara Schmid,Mario Lanza,Antonio Mela,L. Fabbrini,Luciano Biondi,Antonio Lucacchini +9 more
TL;DR: The findings encourage a deeper assessment of the molecular mechanisms of metal intake by edible mushrooms, encompassing genetic biochemical and geo-ecological variables, with particular awareness to element bioavailability in soils and fungi.
Journal Article
Specific proteins identified in whole saliva from patients with diffuse systemic sclerosis.
Laura Giusti,Laura Bazzichi,Chiara Baldini,Federica Ciregia,G. Mascia,Gino Giannaccini,Mario Del Rosso,Stefano Bombardieri,Antonio Lucacchini +8 more
TL;DR: This study is the first reporting the WS protein pattern of patients with SSc and comparing the differences between WS of patientsWith systemic sclerosis and WS of healthy subjects, both previously identified and newly identified proteins were detected in WS using a proteomic approach.
Journal ArticleDOI
Alteration of serotonin transporter density and activity in fibromyalgia.
Laura Bazzichi,Gino Giannaccini,Laura Betti,G. Mascia,L. Fabbrini,Paola Italiani,Francesca De Feo,T. Giuliano,Camillo Giacomelli,Alessandra Rossi,Antonio Lucacchini,Stefano Bombardieri +11 more
TL;DR: A change in SERT seems to occur in fibromyalgic patients, and it seems to be related to the severity of fibromyalgia symptoms.
