Sulphate attack and ettringite formation in the lime and cement stabilized marine clays
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors reviewed the earlier reported case histories of sulphate attack in lime and cement stabilized clays and a list of precautionary measures to be adopted for controlling the ettringite formation have been suggested.
Journal ArticleDOI
Compressibility behaviour of lime-treated marine clay
G. Rajasekaran,S. Narasimha Rao +1 more
TL;DR: The use of lime to improve the behavior of soft clays is not new. as mentioned in this paper examined lime-induced changes in the compressibility of marine clay and found that a reduction of 1/2 to 1/3 in the soil system within 30 to 45 days of treatment.
Journal ArticleDOI
The microstructure of lime-stabilized marine clay
G. Rajasekaran,S. Narasimha Rao +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, an attempt has been made to examine the nature of reaction products formed in a marine clay due to lime treatment using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) studies.
Journal ArticleDOI
Fabric and mineralogical studies on lime treated marine clays
TL;DR: In this paper, an attempt has been made on two marine clays to investigate the microchanges that occurred at particulate level due to the addition of lime and sodium hydroxide chemicals.
Journal ArticleDOI
Strength characteristics of lime-treated marine clay
G. Rajasekaran,S. Narasimha Rao +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the effect of lime on the strength characteristics of different treated systems in a marine environment, and the formation of various new reaction products was identified using X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy techniques.
