Overview of the environmental problems in beet sugar processing: possible solutions

TL;DR: In this article, the pulp and carbonation sludge for the production of paper and vinasse for composting was used for eliminating the utilization of lime. But the paper was not used in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI

Morphology of Calcite (CaCO3) Crystals Growing from Aqueous Solutions in the Presence of Li+ Ions. Surface Behavior of the {0001} Form

TL;DR: In this paper, it was shown that calcite crystals were nucleated and grown from supersaturated aqueous solutions in the presence of variable concentrations of lithium, and the diagram of supersaturation vs [Li+]/[Ca2+] concentration r
Journal ArticleDOI

The {1 0 4} cleavage rhombohedron of calcite: theoretical equilibrium properties

TL;DR: In this paper, the character of the most important crystallographic forms of calcite crystal is quantitatively reviewed according to the Hartman and Perdok theory and specific surface and edge energies of the cleavage rhombohedron are calculated in the crystal-vacuum system by means of a semi-empirical potential function.
Journal ArticleDOI

Single and Twinned Li2CO3 Crystals (Zabuyelite) Epitaxially Grown on {0001} and {10-14} Forms of CaCO3 (Calcite) Crystals

TL;DR: In this paper, single microcrystals of Li 2CO 3 (zabuyelite) were observed on calcite surfaces, epitaxially grown and oriented along the directions of calcite, the {001} form of zabuyelsite being by far the best candidate to form the epitaxial interface.
