TL;DR: In this article , BaZrO3 was chemically synthesized using liquid NH3 as precipitating agent and green synthesised using Moringa oleifera leaf extract without the addition of liquid NH 3. X-ray diffractograms confirmed the cubic nature of the samples with preferential growth.
Abstract: In this paper, BaZrO3 was chemically synthesized using liquid NH3 as precipitating agent and green synthesized using Moringa oleifera (M. oleifera) leaf extract without the addition of liquid NH3. X-ray diffractograms confirmed the cubic nature of the samples with. (1 1 0) preferential growth. XPS studies ascertain the existence of Ba, Zr and O in the green synthesized sample. Decreased band gap was observed for the green synthesized sample. Ba-O stretching vibrations were observed respectively at 480 and 487 cm−1 for the chemically synthesized and green synthesized samples. The green synthesized BaZrO3 exhibits better degradation efficiency of 84.1% after 90 min against CR dye. The green synthesized BaZrO3 nanoparticles exhibited excellent antimicrobial activity against E. coli and A. terreus. The third order nonlinear absorption coefficient and susceptibility values of the green synthesized BaZrO3 were found to be equal to 3.05 × 10−6 cm/W and 4.67 × 10−8 esu, respectively.

Abstract: A single crystal of l-phenylalanine l-phenylalanininum malonate (LPPMA) was synthesized by slow evaporation and was subjected to nonlinear optical examination and physio-chemical characterization. Studies on single X-ray diffraction confirm the arrangement of monoclinic space group P21 which is a vital criterion for the NLO phenomenon. The assessment of functional groups and diverse vibration modes responsible for the characteristics of the material was performed with an FTIR analysis. The UV-visible spectral examination found the wavelength of UV-cutoff at 233 nm and various optical parameters were evaluated. The mechanical strength and different criteria associated with it were assessed. The electric field response of the material was examined in terms of the dielectric constant, dielectric loss, ac conductivity and activation energy. The spectra of emission were detailed. The efficacy of second harmonic generation was studied. The parameters of nonlinearity were investigated to analyse the third-order acentric optical response in the LPPMA by Z-scan procedure.

TL;DR: In this article , the experimental results on structural, mechanical, thermal, linear, and third order nonlinear optical properties of an organic material 4-methyl-N-((1-(4-methylbenzoyl)piperidin-4-yl)methyl)-benzamide (1) for an efficient optical limiting application with easy preparation and decent performance are presented.
Abstract: The computation and experimental results on structural, mechanical, thermal, linear, and third order nonlinear optical properties of an organic material 4-methyl-N-((1-(4-methylbenzoyl)piperidin-4-yl)methyl)-benzamide (1) for an efficient optical limiting application with easy preparation and decent performance are presented. Its response to single-crystal x-ray diffraction allowed to investigate the molecular structure of 1, which is optimized using computational density functional theory at the B3LYP/6-311G** level. Calculated frontier molecular orbitals and Mulliken charge are served to realize the intramolecular charge transfer in 1 and its electronegative nature responsible for optical nonlinearity. Hirshfeld analysis investigated the structural property and the magnitude of interatomic and molecular interactions to help understand structure-property relation. The FTIR and NMR spectroscopic study further confirmed the formation of 1 and the vibrational states of its functional group. The title crystal showed acceptable thermal (stable up to 130 °C) and mechanical (stable up to 50 grams of applied load) stability, which is optimal for laser device applications. With an optical bandgap of 4.32 eV, the title material possesses much less linear optical absorption across the visible region of the electromagnetic spectrum. The nonlinear optical absorption (β), nonlinear refractive index (n 2) and third-order nonlinear optical susceptibility (χ (3)) values are measured as (0.0139 ± 0.001) × 10−4 cmW−1, (1.49 ± 0.05) × 10−10 cm2W−1 and (4.2 ± 0.3) × 10−8 esu respectively shows that the title molecule is third-order nonlinear optical active. The onset optical limiting threshold value is determined as (7.092 ± 0.01)×103 Wcm−2 for 532 nm, continuous-wave laser irradiation indicating that the title material is a good candidate for the optical limiting application.
