Entrecomp, surge a instancias de la Comision Europea, con el objetivo de establecer una herramienta que pudiera ser utilizada a la hora de analizar la orientacion emprendedora de los planes de formacion y estudios de los paises que conforman la Union Europea. La metodologia empleada ha sido la de la revision sistematica de los trabajos relacionados con las competencias emprendedoras y de manera mas especifica con el marco competencia Entrecomp. Los resultados obtenidos permiten determinar el escaso impacto y limitado uso que ha tenido hasta ahora este marco competencial. Esto se observa tanto en trabajos de caracter empirico como de caracter teorico. EnglishFrom a review of the scientific literature related to the competence framework for Entrecomp entrepre-neurship, aspects on the use and level of application that Entrecomp has had since its publication in 2016, in scientific production related to entrepreneurial skills and their training have been analyzed and discussed. Entrecomp, arises at the request of the European Commission, with the aim of establishing a tool that could be used when analyzing the entrepreneurial orientation of the training and study plans of the countries that form the European Union. The methodology used has been the systematic review of the work related to entrepreneurial competencies and more specifically with the Entrecomp competence framework. The results obtained allow determining the low impact and limited use that this competency framework has had until now. This has been observed for both empirical and theoretical works.

Entrecomp: marco competencial para el emprendimiento. Una revisión sistemática de la literatura sobre su uso y aplicación

PurposeThe European Commission has published a general framework of entrepreneurship competence (EC), EntreComp, to create a shared definition and support its development. This study proposes and tests a scale to measure EC based on the EntreComp framework and examines its relation to start-up behaviour using data from seven European countries.Design/methodology/approachThe data were gathered from seven European countries and consist of 1,128 answers from both secondary and higher education level students. The authors use explorative factor analysis (EFA), analysis of variance and logistic regression analysis as data analysis methods.FindingsThe results show that EC is related to start-up behaviour and sensitive to role models and prior experience of entrepreneurship but is not sensitive to gender or level of education. The results also show that although the framework proposes three distinct areas, EC is unidimensional.Originality/valueThe study tests the EntreComp framework and introduces a scale for measuring EC based on the framework. The results show that EC can be addressed as unidimensional construct and that it explains start-up behaviour and develops through enterprising activities. The study also shows the impact of role models on EC. No difference in EC between genders is observed, suggesting the gender differences in entrepreneurship arise from factors other than competence.

Testing the EntreComp framework and its relation to start-up behaviour in seven European countries

Educational programs for entrepreneurs of micro, small, and medium size enterprises (MSMEs) disseminate knowledge and skills for the existing businesses. This chapter aims to contribute to the effect of macroeconomic factors comprising innovation, technology, cost factors, and public policies on entrepreneurial promotion. The functional aspects of enterprises such as market competitiveness, design-to-market business modeling, and socio-economic wellbeing of small entrepreneurs in developing economies have been critically examined in this chapter. In particular, the double and triple helix effects concerning the business performance of the small enterprises have been discussed in the context of strategic alliances, innovation, technology, public policies, and the role of entrepreneurial education. Discussion in the chapter analyzes how these components related to MSMEs are being structured to improve their business performance and drive them competitive in the regional or global marketplace.

Entrepreneurship, Education, and Economics: A Helix Effect on Business Growth

Ecological perspective creates the necessity to change the pedagogical approach in the study environment within the authentic context. The role of a higher education institution is: 1) to prepare specialists capable of continuous learning, to acquire the necessary knowledge independently, taking into account the rapid pace of technological advancement; 2) to educate prospective engineers in food science, to successful, competitive professional activity in the changing conditions of the modern labour market and professional environment of the industry, incl. to promote the formation and further development of their various competences. Entrepreneurial competence plays an important role in the competitiveness structure of any specialist. The aim of the study is to experimentally approbate the developed methodology for the entrepreneurial competence self-evaluation of prospective engineers in food science within the context of competitiveness development promotion. The TOP10 of self-evaluation indicators of entrepreneurial competence shows that: 1) students’ group of study programme Food Quality and Innovation would readily to manage the company, dealing with human resource management; 2) while the students’ group of study programme Food Science would prefer to do business by creating and investing in new food companies. The TOP10 list of indicators of the both experimental groups’ participants has 5 indicators that coincide in both groups, depending on the sums of self-evaluation. The self-evaluation methodology of the entrepreneurial competence developed by the authors is valid and can be applied not only for the evaluation of prospective engineers in food science competitiveness, but also for its promotion.

Entrepreneurial Competence Self-Evaluation of Prospective Engineersin Food Science with in the Context of Competitiveness

Background Since 2006, entrepreneurship competence has been considered one of the eight key competences for lifelong learning, which are important for personal development, social inclusion, active citizenship, and employment. In 2015, the EntreComp framework was created. The framework structures partial entrepreneurship competences to support their development in European citizens regardless of the field of education, professional or occupational orientation, as a critical part of increasing competitiveness and innovation potential of a country. Purpose: The present paper aimed to develop a questionnaire based on the EntreComp framework, which would serve as a self-assessment tool for one's entrepreneurship competences, which could be used to adopt curricular or extra-curricular and non-formal, education to better serve this goal. Study design/methodology/approach: The validity and reliability of the questionnaire was examined on a sample of university students in different fields of study-technical and natural sciences, humanities, economics, and medicine. The purpose of the sample diversity is the emphasis on the independence of entrepreneurship competence on professional orientation. Findings/conclusions: The result of the study is a 60-item questionnaire consisting of three factors and fifteen subfactors helping to identify educational needs in the field of entrepreneurship, based on the subjective perception of the individual. In comparison with already existing tools, this questionnaire was developed on the strong basis of EntreComp framework and supports the idea of the broader context of entrepreneurship competence than just the business level, while covering cognitive, personal, and behavioural level of the entrepreneurial potential. Limitations/future research: In the future, its application in other age or social groups is suggested.
