Journal ArticleDOI
Diagnostic accuracy of serological tests for covid-19: systematic review and meta-analysis.
Mayara Lisboa Bastos,Mayara Lisboa Bastos,Gamuchirai Tavaziva,S.K. Abidi,Jonathon R. Campbell,Jonathon R. Campbell,Louis-Patrick Haraoui,James C. Johnston,Zhiyi Lan,Stephanie Law,Emily MacLean,Anete Trajman,Anete Trajman,Dick Menzies,Dick Menzies,Andrea Benedetti,Andrea Benedetti,Faiz Ahmad Khan,Faiz Ahmad Khan +18 more
TL;DR: Higher quality clinical studies assessing the diagnostic accuracy of serological tests for covid-19 are urgently needed, as available evidence does not support the continued use of existing point-of-care serological Tests for coronavirus disease-2019.
Journal ArticleDOI
Chest x-ray analysis with deep learning-based software as a triage test for pulmonary tuberculosis: a prospective study of diagnostic accuracy for culture-confirmed disease.
Faiz Ahmad Khan,Faiz Ahmad Khan,Arman Majidulla,Gamuchirai Tavaziva,Ahsana Nazish,Syed Kumail Abidi,Andrea Benedetti,Andrea Benedetti,Dick Menzies,Dick Menzies,James C. Johnston,Aamir J. Khan,Saima Saeed +12 more
TL;DR: In an HIV-negative population, these software met WHO-recommended minimal accuracy for pulmonary tuberculosis triage tests, and sensitivity was lower in smear-negative pulmonary tuberculosis for both software, and in women for CAD4TBv6.
Journal ArticleDOI
Chest X-ray analysis with deep learning-based software as a triage test for pulmonary tuberculosis: an individual patient data meta-analysis of diagnostic accuracy.
Gamuchirai Tavaziva,Miriam Harris,Miriam Harris,S.K. Abidi,Coralie Geric,Coralie Geric,Marianne Breuninger,Keertan Dheda,Keertan Dheda,Aliasgar Esmail,Monde Muyoyeta,Klaus Reither,Klaus Reither,Arman Majidulla,Aamir J. Khan,Jonathon R. Nathavitharana,Madhukar Pai,Madhukar Pai,Andrea Benedetti,Andrea Benedetti,Faiz Ahmad Khan,Faiz Ahmad Khan +26 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors collected chest X-ray (CXR) and individual patient data (IPD) from studies evaluating computer-aided detection software (CAD) in patients self-referring for tuberculosis symptoms with culture or nucleic acid amplification testing as the reference.
Journal ArticleDOI
Diagnostic accuracy of a commercially-available, deep learning-based chest-Xray interpretation software for detecting culture-confirmed pulmonary tuberculosis.
Gamuchirai Tavaziva,Arman Majidulla,Ahsana Nazish,Saima Saeed,Andrea Benedetti,Aamir J. Khan,Faiz Ahmad Khan +6 more
TL;DR: In this article , the authors evaluated the accuracy of LUNIT INSIGHT version 3.0 (LUNIT, South Korea) for detecting pulmonary tuberculosis in the triage use case.
Journal ArticleDOI
Comparative Effectiveness of Regimens for Drug-Susceptible Tuberculous Meningitis in Children and Adolescents: A Systematic Review and Aggregate-Level Data Meta-Analysis
Giorgia Sulis,Gamuchirai Tavaziva,Genevieve Gore,Andrea Benedetti,Regan Solomons,Ronald van Toorn,Stephanie Thee,Jeremy N. Day,Sabine Verkuijl,A Brands,Kerri Viney,T. Masini,Faiz Ahmad Khan,Silvia S. Chiang +13 more
TL;DR: The 6HRZEto regimen was associated with high treatment success and is now recommended by WHO as an alternative to the 12-month regimen, limited by the small number of studies and substantial potential for confounding.
