Journal ArticleDOI

Adsorption dynamics of native and pentylated bovine serum albumin at air-water interfaces : Surface concentration/surface pressure measurements

TL;DR: The steady-state Pi-Gamma relationship agrees well with the isotherm obtained from the monolayer experiments, thus indicating that adsorbed BSA molecules unfold more or less completely after sufficiently long times (>20 h), especially at low ionic strengths.
Journal ArticleDOI

A model for unsteady state drainage of a static foam

TL;DR: In this article, a model for the unsteady state drainage of a standing foam has been proposed, which accounts for the liquid drainage from plateau borders due to gravity as well as the gradient of plateau border suction and the movement of the foam-liquid interface due to the accumulation of drained liquid.
Journal ArticleDOI

A new approach for the prediction of the rate of nucleation in liquids

TL;DR: In this article, a formalism is developed for the prediction of the rate of nucleation in liquids which as opposed to the usual quasi-thermodynamic treatment does not employ the macroscopic concept of interfacial tension for small clusters and the principle of detailed balance.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of bubble size distribution on the enrichment and collapse in foams

- 01 Jul 1986 -

Hydrodynamics, enrichment, and collapse in foams

- 01 Mar 1986 -
TL;DR: The separation par masse en semi-continu d'un agent de surface non ionien est etudiee au moyen de un modele qui tient compte du drainage par gravite depuis les bords du plateau, de l'amincissement des films liquides cause par la pression capillaire, l'aspiration du bord du plateau and the pression de disjonction and de la rupture des films minces due aux forces de van der Waals as mentioned in this paper.
