Long-term recurrence rates of atypical meningiomas after gross total resection with or without postoperative adjuvant radiation.
Manish K. Aghi,Bob S. Carter,Garth Rees Cosgrove,Robert G. Ojemann,Sepideh Amin-Hanjani,Robert L. Martuza,William T. Curry,Fred G. Barker +7 more
TL;DR: After GTR without postoperative radiation, AMs have a high recurrence rate, and most recurrences occurred within 5 years after resection, suggesting lower recurrence rates in patients undergoing immediate postoperative Radiation should be investigated in larger, prospective series.
Journal ArticleDOI
Single cell RNA sequencing of human microglia uncovers a subset associated with Alzheimer’s disease
Marta Olah,Vilas Menon,Naomi Habib,Naomi Habib,Mariko Taga,Yiyi Ma,Christina J. Yung,Maria Cimpean,Anthony Khairallah,Guillermo Coronas-Samano,Roman Sankowski,Dominic Grün,Alexandra Kroshilina,Danielle Dionne,Rani A. Sarkis,Garth Rees Cosgrove,Jeffrey Helgager,Jeffrey A. Golden,Page B. Pennell,Marco Prinz,Jean Paul Vonsattel,Andrew F. Teich,Julie A. Schneider,David A. Bennett,Aviv Regev,Wassim Elyaman,Wassim Elyaman,Elizabeth M. Bradshaw,Elizabeth M. Bradshaw,Philip L. De Jager +29 more
TL;DR: The population structure of live microglia purified from human cerebral cortex samples obtained at autopsy and during neurosurgical procedures is investigated, and it is found that some subsets are enriched for disease-related genes and RNA signatures.
Journal ArticleDOI
Development and Translation of PEDOT:PSS Microelectrodes for Intraoperative Monitoring
Mehran Ganji,Erik Kaestner,John Hermiz,Nicholas Rogers,Atsunori Tanaka,Daniel R. Cleary,Sang Heon Lee,Jospeh Snider,Milan Halgren,Garth Rees Cosgrove,Bob S. Carter,David Barba,Ilke Uguz,George G. Malliaras,Sydney S. Cash,Vikash Gilja,Eric Halgren,Shadi A. Dayeh +17 more
TL;DR: The first evoked (stimulus‐locked) cognitive activity with changes in amplitude across pial surface distances as small as 400 µm is reported, potentially enabling basic neurophysiology studies at the scale of neural micro‐circuitry.
Journal ArticleDOI
Allometric rules for mammalian cortical layer 5 neuron biophysics.
Lou Beaulieu-Laroche,Norma J. Brown,Marissa Hansen,Enrique H. S. Toloza,Enrique H. S. Toloza,Enrique H. S. Toloza,Jitendra Sharma,Jitendra Sharma,Ziv Williams,Matthew P. Frosch,Garth Rees Cosgrove,Sydney S. Cash,Mark T. Harnett +12 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors characterize layer 5 cortical pyramidal neurons across 10 mammalian species to identify the allometric relationships that govern how neuronal biophysics change with cell size.
Journal ArticleDOI
Stereotactic interstitial radiosurgery for cerebral metastases.
TL;DR: Stereotactic interstitial radiosurgery performed using the Photon Radiosurgery System can obtain local control of cerebral metastases at rates that are comparable to those achieved through open resection and external stereotactic radiosur surgery.
