Journal ArticleDOI

Improvement of the extraction of penicillin acylase from Escherichia coli cells by a combined use of chemical methods.

TL;DR: This extraction procedure was optimized, and it was found that 95% of the enzyme was extracted after a 10 m/M EDTA plus 10 mM guanidine treatment at room temperature for 10 h, which could avoid purification steps for particular applications.
Journal ArticleDOI

Experimental tests and modelling of an electrodeionization cell for the treatment of dilute copper solutions

TL;DR: In this paper, the ability of this technique to treat 100 ppm copper solutions using cationic membranes and ion-exchange resins between the membranes was studied, and the results of experimental and theoretical investigations of an electrodeionization process for the removal of metal cations from dilute solutions were presented.
Journal ArticleDOI

Equilibria and activity coefficients for non-ideal adsorbed mixtures from perturbation chromatography

TL;DR: In this paper, the activity coefficients are extracted from peak chromatography experiments in binary mixtures of co-adsorbed components, which are defined in the framework of the so-called non-ideal adsorbed solution theory.
Journal ArticleDOI

Equilibrium staged parametric pumping. I. Single transfer step per half‐cycle and total reflux—the analogy with distillation

Georges Grevillot, +1 more
- 01 Nov 1976 -
TL;DR: In this article, the authors studied a staged batch parametric pump with nonlinear isotherms and showed that the limiting regime corresponds to a staircase construction between the two isotherm, the number of steps being equal to the total reflux distillation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Purification of phenolic wastewater by parametric pumping: Nonmixed dead volume equilibrium model

TL;DR: In this paper, a new process for purification of phenolic wastewaters by parametric pumping is presented and an equilibrium (linear) model for nonmixed dead volumes thermal direct mode PPP is developed and the influence of bottom and top dead volume magnitudes on transient separation is analyzed.
