Free-Electron Laser driven by fibre based laser feeding a Laser Plasma Accelerator
TL;DR: In this article, a Free Electron Laser - FEL - EUV or soft X-ray light source comprising a fibre-based laser, comprising a plurality of amplifying fibres, was presented.
Proceedings Article
Chirped-Pulse Cascaded Quadratic Compression of 1-mJ, 35-fs Pulses with Low Wavefront Distortions
TL;DR: In this article, a new concept called chirped-pulse cascade-compression is proposed and demonstrated, and initial experiments agree with numerical simulations, including compression of 35fs, 1.2mJ-pulses to 20fs, with negligible wavefront distortion.
Journal ArticleDOI
High speed circuit testing using ultrafast optical techniques
TL;DR: In this paper, the electro-optic effect in conjunction with short optical pulses makes possible noninvasive wafer-level testing of integrated circuits over a terahertz bandwidth and with micrometer resolution.
Proceedings Article
Optical breakdown with femtosecond laser pulses
TL;DR: In this paper, two major theories, the avalanche model and the photoionization model, exist for the breakdown process, and the breakdown threshold is dependent on the laser pulse width.
