Search for disappearing tracks in proton-proton collisions at s=13TeV

Albert M. Sirunyan, +2364 more
- 10 Jul 2020 -
TL;DR: In this paper, a search for long-lived charged particles that decay within the volume of the silicon tracker of the LHC experiment is presented for events with this "disappearing track" signature.
Journal ArticleDOI

Search for new physics in same-sign dilepton events in proton-proton collisions at √{s} = 13 {TeV}

Vardan Khachatryan, +2236 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a search for new physics is performed using events with two isolated same-sign leptons, two or more jets, and missing transverse momentum, where the analysis is sensitive to a wide variety of possible signals beyond the standard model background expectation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Measurement of differential cross sections for Higgs boson production in the diphoton decay channel in pp collisions at √s = 8 TeV

Vardan Khachatryan, +2336 more
Abstract: A measurement is presented of differential cross sections for the Higgs boson (H) production in pp collisions at sqrt(s)=8 TeV. The analysis exploits the H to gamma gamma decay in data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 19.7 inverse femtobarns collected by the CMS experiment at the LHC. The cross section is measured as a function of the kinematic properties of the diphoton system and of the associated jets. Results corrected for detector effects are compared with predictions at next-to-leading order and next-to-next-to-leading order in perturbative quantum chromodynamics, as well as with predictions beyond the standard model. For isolated photons with pseudorapidities abs(eta) 1/3 and >1/4, the total fiducial cross section is 32 +/- 10 fb.

Centrality dependence of the high pT charged hadron suppression in Au + Au collisions at √sNN = 130 GeV

K. Adcox, +323 more
- 22 May 2003 -
TL;DR: In this article, the authors measured the centrality dependence of charged hadron p(T) spectra from Au +An collisions at root(s)NN = 130 GeV.

Measurements of differential Z boson production cross sections in proton-proton collisions at s√ = 13 TeV

Albert M. Sirunyan, +2375 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors measured the differential cross sections of Z bosons produced in proton-proton collisions at 13 TeV and decaying to muons and electrons, and compared the results to theoretical predictions using fixed order, resummed, and parton shower calculations.
