TL;DR: In this paper, an experimental observation of the photophoretic motion of micro-sized particles suspended in air has been performed using the radiometric force from a continuous laser beam, which was used to trap the particles in a confined optical field and to levitate them.
Abstract: An experimental observation of the photophoretic motion of micro-sized particles suspended in air has been performed using the radiometric force from a continuous laser beam. The irradiation was used to trap the particles in a confined optical field and to levitate them. Complex photophoretic motion of the particles was observed in the focus of the beam.

TL;DR: In this article, the lateral shift of a light beam suffering total reflection can be enhanced by the excitation of a surface plasmon wave, and a double peak structure was observed in the reflected field as predicted by theory.
Abstract: The lateral shift of a light beam suffering total reflection can be enhanced by the excitation of a surface plasmon wave. A shift of ⋍19 μm was obtained in one total reflection at the surface plasmon resonance. A characteristic double-peak structure was observed in the reflected field as predicted by theory.

TL;DR: In this paper, the temperature field generated by the weak absorption of a gaussian laser beam in an optically and thermally thin film bounded by two transparent plates is discussed and an analytical solution of the problem is presented together with an algorithm for the numerical integration.
Abstract: The temperature field generated by the weak absorption of a gaussian laser beam in an optically and thermally thin film bounded by two transparent plates is discussed. An analytical solution of the problem is presented together with an algorithm for the numerical integration. The influence of the finite thermal conductivity of the plates is shown in an example.

TL;DR: In this article, the static non linearity coefficient is shown to be approximatively 200 times the optical coefficient, and an explicit expression is given for the deflection angle versus the physical parameters of the sample.
Abstract: The use of latex in electrooptic devices is proposed. The static non linearity coefficient is shown to be approximatively 200 times the optical one. The theory of a beam deflector is developed and an explicit expression is given for the deflection angle versus the physical parameters of the sample Utilisation de suspensions aqueuses de latex dans un dispositif electro-optique. On montre que le coefficient statique de non-linearite devrait etre 200 fois plus eleve que le coefficient optique. Application a un deflecteur optique

TL;DR: In this paper, a mathematical model for the computation of intensity of radiation in biological tissues irradiated by laser is presented, where the time-independent transport radiative equation is solved in terms of a Neumann series, each term of the series associated with a different order of magnitude of the internal scattering effect.
Abstract: A mathematical model is presented for the computation of intensity of radiation in biological tissues irradiated by laser. The time-independent transport radiative equation is solved in terms of a Neumann series. Each term of the series is associated with a different order of magnitude of the internal-scattering effect. The importance of these effects has been recognized during the irradiation by ion-argon and ND: YAG laser used as coagulting or cutting instruments in surgery applications. Agreement is found with the single-scattering picture.
