Journal ArticleDOI
Conformational behaviour and E/Z isomerization of N-acyl and N-aroylhydrazones
TL;DR: In this paper, the stereochemical behavior of N -acyl and N -aroylhydrazones of aromatic aldehydes, of pyruvates and of acetone, in polar and less polar solvents, has been studied by HPLC and by NMR techniques.
Journal ArticleDOI
Oxidative stress and phytochelatin characterisation in bread wheat exposed to cadmium excess.
Annamaria Ranieri,Antonella Castagna,Francesca Scebba,Maria Careri,I. Zagnoni,Giovanni Predieri,M. Pagliari,Luigi Sanità di Toppi +7 more
TL;DR: Results indicate that in leaves the stress generated by the low accumulation of Cd seems to be counteracted by the antioxidant response and by the PC biosynthesis, and in roots, in spite of the elevated presence of PCs and related thiol-peptide-compounds, the excess ofCd causes a decline in the antioxidant protection of the organ, with the consequent generation of considerable amounts of H(2)O(2), a direct agent of oxidative stress.
Journal ArticleDOI
Selective oxidation of sulfides to sulfoxides and sulfones using 30% aqueous hydrogen peroxide and silica-vanadia catalyst
Francesca Gregori,Ilaria Nobili,Franca Bigi,Raimondo Maggi,Giovanni Predieri,Giovanni Sartori +5 more
TL;DR: In this article, a green, efficient and selective approach for the oxidation of sulfides to sulfoxides and sulfones with stoichiometric amount of 30% aq was reported.
Journal ArticleDOI
Synthesis of symmetrical N,N'-disubstituted thioureas and heterocyclic thiones from amines and CS2 over a ZnO/Al2O3 composite as heterogeneous and reusable catalyst
Marco Ballabeni,Roberto Ballini,Franca Bigi,Raimondo Maggi,Mauro Parrini,Giovanni Predieri,Giovanni Sartori +6 more
Journal ArticleDOI
Synthesis and Characterization of Conjugated Polyazines and Polyazomethines Containing the Thienylene Moiety and Flexible Hydrocarbon Side Chains
Silvia Destri,Mariacecilia Pasini,Corrado Pelizzi,William Porzio,Giovanni Predieri,Carlo Vignali +5 more
TL;DR: In this article, the reactivity of monosubstituted dialdehydes toward condensation with nucleophiles displaying different steric hindrance or power was studied.
