The Prognostic Effect of Circadian Blood Pressure Pattern on Long-Term Cardiovascular Outcome is Independent of Left Ventricular Remodeling.
Marijana Tadic,Cesare Cuspidi,Vera Celic,Biljana Pencic,Giuseppe Mancia,Guido Grassi,Goran Stankovic,Branislava Ivanovic +7 more
TL;DR: R reverse-dipping BP pattern was predictor of adverse CV events independently of nighttime SBP and LV remodeling during long-term follow-up, showing that the assessment of BP patterns has very important role in the long-time prediction in hypertensive population.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effects of Intensive Glycemic Control on Clinical Outcomes Among Patients With Type 2 Diabetes With Different Levels of Cardiovascular Risk and Hemoglobin A1c in the ADVANCE Trial.
Jingyan Tian,Toshiaki Ohkuma,Mark E. Cooper,Stephen B. Harrap,Giuseppe Mancia,Neil R Poulter,Ji-Guang Wang,Sophia Zoungas,Sophia Zoungas,Mark Woodward,Mark Woodward,John Chalmers +11 more
TL;DR: The major benefits for patients with T2D in ADVANCE did not substantially differ across levels of baseline ASCVD risk and HbA1c and the effect of intensive glycemic control on all-cause mortality was not significantly different.
Journal ArticleDOI
Novel domain-selective ACE-inhibiting activity of synthetic growth hormone secretagogues.
Antonio Torsello,Elena Bresciani,Monica Ravelli,Laura Rizzi,I. Bulgarelli,G. Ricci,Barbara Ghiazza,Marina Del Puppo,Veronica Mainini,Robert J. Omeljaniuk,Laura Tamiazzo,Giuseppe Mancia,Fulvio Magni,Vittorio Locatelli +13 more
TL;DR: Some GHSs are effective ACE-inhibitors, and this activity may contribute to their cardiovascular effects, suggesting the possibility of developing new antihypertensive drugs with improved therapeutic potential.
Journal Article
Reflex control of circulation and angiotensin converting enzyme inhibition in man.
TL;DR: Reflex control of circulation may be adversely affected by ACE inhibition, but this does not include all reflex targets and at least one major reflex is preserved following this pharmacological intervention, which may explain why patients showed no orthostatic hypotension during chronic treatment with ACE inhibitors.
Journal ArticleDOI
Regional blood flows during desynchronized sleep in the cat.
TL;DR: La vasodilatazione viscrale dipende da una diminuita attività simpatica; per la vasocostrizione muscolare, invece, bisogna pensare, oltre che a meccanismi nervosi, anche a fattori meccanici e metabolici.
