TL;DR: In this paper, die Verbindungen of Atombindungen with tetraedrischer coordination gegenuber den Chalkogenen wurden erhalten.
Abstract: Durch Umsetzung der binaren Komponenten bei hoheren Temperaturen wurden die Verbindungen CuAlS2, CuAlSe2, CuAlTe2, CuGaS2, CuGaSe2, CuGaTe2, CuInS2, CuInSe2, CuInTe2, CuTlS2, CuTlSe2, AgAlS2, AgAlSe2, AgAlTe2, AgGaS2, AgGaSe2, AgGaTe2, AgInS2, AgInSe2, und AgInTe2 erhalten.

TL;DR: In this paper, a tetragonale pseudokubische struktur der Raumgruppe SI4 with einer Molekel in der Elementarzelle is described.
Abstract: Es wurden die Verbindungen CdAl2O4, CdAl2S4, HgAl2S4, ZnAl2Se4, CdAl2Se4, HgAl2Se4, ZnAl2Te4, CdAl2Te4, HgAl2Te4, ZnGa2S4, CdGa2S4, HgGa2S4, ZnGa2Se4, CdGa2Se4 HgGa2Se4, ZnGa2Te4, CdGa2Te4, HgGa2Te4, ZnIn2Se4, CdIn2Se4, HgIn2Se4, ZnIn2Te4, CdIn2Te4 und HgIn2Te4 durch Umsetzungen im festen Zustande bei hoheren Temperaturen dargestellt und rontgenographisch untersucht.

TL;DR: In this paper, a hexagonalen Schichtengitter was kristallisiert in a Raumgruppe DC6/mmc with 4 Molekeln GaS, wobei jedes Galliumatom nahezu tetraedrisch von drei Schwefel-and einem Gallium atom umgeben.
Die Gitterkonstanten sind: a = 3,578 kX; c = 15,47 kX; c/a = 4,323.

Beide Verbindungen kristallisieren tetragonal; Cu2HgJ4: a = 6,080 kX; c = 12,218 kX; c/a = 2,011; Ag2HgJ4: a = 6,304 kX; c = 12,608 kX; c/a = 2,000.

TL;DR: In this article, a review is concerned with the neglected class of inorganic compounds, which contain ions of the same element in two different formal states of oxidation, and a number of references cite that many individual examples of this class have been studied, yet they have very rarely been treated as a class, and there has never before, to our knowledge, been a systematic attempt to classify their properties in terms of their electronic and molecular structures.
Abstract: Publisher Summary This review is concerned with the neglected class of inorganic compounds, which contain ions of the same element in two different formal states of oxidation. Although the number of references cited in our review show that many individual examples of this class have been studied, yet they have very rarely been treated as a class, and there has never before, to our knowledge, been a systematic attempt to classify their properties in terms of their electronic and molecular structures. In the past, systems containing an element in two different states of oxidation have gone by various names, the terms “mixed valence,” nonintegral valence,” “mixed oxidation,” “oscillating valency,” and “controlled valency” being used interchangeably. Actually, none of these is completely accurate or all-embracing, but in our hope to avoid the introduction of yet another definition, we have somewhat arbitrarily adopted the phrase “mixed valence” for the description of these systems. The concept of resonance among various valence bond structures is one of the cornerstones of modern organic chemistry.

TL;DR: In this article, the working mechanism of CIGS solar cells with a back surface field, the importance of developing CIGs solar cells, and the limitations for their commercialization are discussed.
Abstract: Copper indium gallium selenide (CIGS) based solar cells are receiving worldwide attention for solar power generation. They are efficient thin film solar cells that have achieved 22.8% efficiency comparable to crystalline silicon (c-Si) wafer based solar cells. For a production capacity of 1000 MW y−1 with 15% module efficiency, the CIGS module production cost is expected to be $0.34 W−1. For CIGS cells over glass, a graded bandgap high temperature deposition process has been established, however, this process has not been established for CIGS over flexible polymer substrates which is a low temperature process. For small area devices, the main focus is precise control over CIGS film stoichiometry and efficiency. For industrial production, apart from stoichiometry and efficiency, low-cost, reproducibility, high-throughput and process tolerance are of much importance in commercializing the technology. Due to process complexity, CIGS module production is lagging behind that of cadmium telluride (CdTe) modules. In this review article, the working mechanism of CIGS solar cells with a back surface field, the importance of developing CIGS solar cells, and the limitations for their commercialization are discussed. CIGS solar cells are compared with c-Si solar cells. After briefly reviewing the history of the chalcopyrite alloy system, graded bandgaps, effects of sodium distribution in CIGS layers, growth of CIGS layers using various techniques, role of buffer layer/transparent conducting oxides, CdS free buffer layers, concerns related to flexible solar cells, and factors affecting the cell efficiency are reviewed. Further efficiency improvement options are discussed. Cell stability, challenges, solutions and future prospects of CIGS solar cells are outlined.

TL;DR: In this paper, the refractive indices of the ternary A^{I}B^{III}C_{2}^{VI} semiconductors CuAlSe 2, AgGaSe 2, CuGaSe2, and AgInSe 2 have been measured over most of the transparency range of these crystals.
Abstract: The refractive indices of the ternary A^{I}B^{III}C_{2}^{VI} semiconductors CuAlSe 2 , AgGaSe 2 , CuGaSe 2 , and AgInSe 2 have been measured over most of the transparency range of these crystals. The optical nonlinear coefficients for second-harmonic generation of AgGaSe 2 CuGaSe 2 , and AgInSe 2 have also been measured. Three-frequency colinear phase matching is analyzed in detail for AgGaSe 2 . The birefringences of the other three crystals are not sufficient to permit three-frequency colinear phase matching within the range of the measured index. The merits of AgGaSe 2 for nonlinear optical applications are evaluated in comparison with other promising infrared nonlinear materials.

TL;DR: In this article, the upconversion efficiency in AgGaS 2 for sum mixing of the CO 2 laser ( ε = 10.5 µ ) with the xenon ion laser ( µ = 0.597 µ ) is also calculated.
Abstract: The refractive indices of the ternary A^{I}B^{III}C_{2}^{VI} semiconductors AgGaS 2 , CuGaS 2 , and CuInS 2 have been measured over the entire range of transparency of these crystals. The optical nonlinear coefficients for second-harmonic generation have also been determined. Three-frequency collinear phase matching is analyzed in detail for AgGaS 2 . The birefringences of CuGaS 2 and CuInS 2 are not large enough to permit three-frequency phase matching within the transparent regions. A parametric oscillator threshold calculation for a pump wavelength 0.89 μ, which is within the range of the GaAs injection laser, indicates that AgGaS 2 is promising for this application. The upconversion efficiency in AgGaS 2 for sum mixing of the CO 2 laser ( \lambda = 10.5 \mu ) with the xenon ion laser ( \lambda = 0.597 \mu ) is also calculated. The result indicates that, depending upon system requirements and the availability of high optical quality material, AgGaS 2 can be comparable to ZnGeP 2 for upconversion. In Appendix II, we present a theory of the wedge technique for the measurement of nonlinear coefficients. This theory takes into account losses and assumes a Gaussian beam geometry. Furthermore, a discussion of units in nonlinear optics is given.
