In a ciphertext-policy attribute-based encryption (CP-ABE) scheme, the data is encrypted under an access policy defined by a user who encrypts the data and a user secret key is associated with a set of attributes which identify the user. A user can decrypt the ciphertext if and only if his attributes satisfy the access policy. In CP-ABE, since the user enforces the access policy at the encryption phase, the policy moves with the encrypted data. This is important for data storage servers where data confidentiality must be preserved even if the server is compromised or un-trusted. In this paper, we provide an efficient CP-ABE scheme which can express any access policy represented by a formula involving $\wedge$ and $\vee$ boolean operators. The scheme is secure under Decision Bilinear Diffie-Hellman assumption (DBDH). Furthermore, we extend the expressivity of the scheme by including \emph{of} (threshold) operator in addition to $\wedge$ and $\vee$ operators. We provide a comparison with existing CP-ABE schemes and show that our schemes are more efficient. Especially, the computational work done by the decryptor is reduced.

Efficient and Provable Secure Ciphertext-Policy Attribute-Based Encryption Schemes

The application of IoT has become widespread across several industries such as logistics, smart homes, smart cities, e-health, and agriculture. IOT based E-Health Systems provides healthcare services across a series of interconnected networks and IoT devices. In such type of systems data security remains to be the major issue as the data generated from the E-health systems are accessed by the variety of users for medication, diagnosis, and research purposes. Even an outbreak of the single GB of the health data creates serious impacts as they are highly confidential in nature. Thus, an effective security measure across the IoT-based E-health systems has become the primary requirement. Further, the underlying architecture of the IoT-based E-health systems also greatly influences the data management and security issues. In this paper, we review some of the security considerations and challenges of IOT based E-Health systems. The proposed research work suggests efficient architecture models and access control algorithms for IoT-based E-health systems. As a result, a comparative analysis of various architecture elements and security measures are discussed, and the most appropriate techniques are suggested.

IoT-based E-health system security: A vision archictecture elements and future directions

The use of cloud computing has increased exponentially in data resources storage over the past few years. Cloud storage reduces the overall costs of server maintenance, whereby companies only pay for the resources they actually use in the cloud storage. Despite this, security concerns in cloud computing must be a top priority. One of the common encryption methods in cloud security is Attribute Based Encryption (ABE). ABE contains two types, namely, Ciphertext Policy-Attribute Based Encryption (CP-ABE) and Key PolicyAttribute based Encryption (KP-ABE). CP-ABE is better than KP-ABE, especially in reduplication issues and fine-grained access. However, issues in CP_ABE need further improvement. Improvement for the CP-ABE scheme has been growing rapidly since 2010 to date, and five main issues need improvement. This paper reviews the proposed CP-ABE schemes during the past three years. These schemes focus on solving the five issues identified inherent in the CP-ABE scheme.

Current issues in Ciphertext Policy-Attribute based scheme for cloud computing: A survey

It is difficult and high-cost to deploy a real testbed of underwater network, so most research on MAC mechanism of underwater acoustic network is mainly based on theory analysis and simulation test. However, dynamic underwater environment and complex communication conditions are hard to be simulated and reproduced by software. In this paper, we build a real testbed of underwater sensor network, and implement the state-based MAC protocol on the embedded motherboard. We carry out a large number of tests on our underwater acoustic network MAC protocol. The tests prove that the state-based MAC protocol can reduce conflicts and improve data delivery rate, also achieve fast and stable transmission hop-by-hop.

Design and Implementation of State-based MAC Protocol for UANs in Real Testbed

The purpose of this paper is to propose a conceptual model for data security in the Internet of thing devices. Estimated by Jumoki in early 2018 to 2022, there will be about 18 billion connected IoT devices. Therefore many issue related to IoT devices were discussed especially data security. Cryptography with lightweight features is one of the focus area by researchers to develop a powerful cryptography scheme for IoT devices. Lightweight cryptography scheme has been discussed and proposed widely recently. There are AES, PRESENT, Hash algorithm declared as a lightweight algorithm under consideration in ISO/IEC 29192 “Lightweight Cryptography”. Unfortunately these lightweight algorithm is one-to-one communication cryptography technique. This algorithm is very practical to implement for individuals or for small group communication but unpractical when implemented in a big company where many users can become a bottleneck. Therefore we propose a lightweight Ciphertext Policy-Attribute Based Encryption (CP-ABE) algorithm to implement in IoT devices. CP-ABE algorithm is one-to-many technique suitable for secure grouping communication, but this algorithm is not a lightweight feature. Therefore this paper proposes a lightweight CP-ABE algorithm for IoT devices.

Conceptual framework for lightweight ciphertext policy-attribute based encryption scheme for internet of things devices

Ciphertext-Policy Attribute-Based Encryption (CP-ABE) is a well-known access control technique enforces effective data access policies, where each access policy consists of many attributes. At present, the application of CP-ABE among cloud computing applications has obtained significant attention due to its flexibility and dynamic decision-making capabilities. In most of the existing CP-ABE schemes the size of the ciphertext increases linearly with increase in a number of attributes in access policy which incurs very large ciphertext size leading to computational overheads and several security infringements. In this paper, we propose a privacy-preserving CP-ABE scheme that significantly reduces the ciphertext size to be constant with any number of the user given attributes in a meaningful manner. The proposed system solves the problem of increasing ciphertext size through the construction of dispensability matrix which eliminates redundant attributes from the system. The experiment shows that our proposed system better solve the issue of data privacy and computational overheads.

Privacy preserving ciphertext policy attribute based encryption scheme with efficient and constant ciphertextsize

Underwater acoustic sensor networks UASN is different from terrestrial sensor networks. Designing medium access control MAC protocols are challenging task in UASN. In this paper, we proposed a new MAC protocol for underwater communication which is called as underwater virtual backoff algorithm-based medium access control UVMAC. This UVMAC approach is based on virtual backoff algorithm VBA. The UVMAC is an enhancement of the VBA method that avoids collision during medium access in wireless networks. UVMAC reduces the number of collisions and increases the throughput of the network. In UVMAC, the sensor nodes are limited to access the channel in terms of sequence number. The simulation results show that the proposed UVMAC are performed well compared to reservation medium access control RMAC and broadcast MAC for UASN.
