TL;DR: Three recommended lists of chemicals that would be appropriate to evaluate the sensitivity and specificity of new/modified mammalian cell genotoxicity tests are updated and how these should be used for any test evaluation program is described.

TL;DR: An updated risk evaluation for genotoxic carcinogens is proposed, based on mechanistic knowledge regarding the substance (group) under investigation, and taking into account recent improvements in analytical techniques used to quantify DNA lesions and mutations as well as “omics” approaches.

TL;DR: The results indicate that color mutants are caused neither by the presence of a mixture of wild-type and mutated lacZ plasmids within the same host cell nor by a combination of cells within the original mutant colony which carry either wild- type or mutated lac Z plasmid copies.
