Journal ArticleDOI
Updated recommended lists of genotoxic and non-genotoxic chemicals for assessment of the performance of new or improved genotoxicity tests.
David Kirkland,Peter Kasper,Hans Jörg Martus,Lutz Müller,Jan van Benthem,Federica Madia,Raffaella Corvi +6 more
TL;DR: Three recommended lists of chemicals that would be appropriate to evaluate the sensitivity and specificity of new/modified mammalian cell genotoxicity tests are updated and how these should be used for any test evaluation program is described.
Journal ArticleDOI
Mode of action-based risk assessment of genotoxic carcinogens
Andrea Hartwig,Michael Arand,Bernd Epe,Sabine Guth,Gunnar Jahnke,Alfonso Lampen,Hans Jörg Martus,Bernhard H. Monien,Ivonne M.C.M. Rietjens,Simone Schmitz-Spanke,G. Schriever‐Schwemmer,Pablo Steinberg,Gerhard Eisenbrand +12 more
TL;DR: An updated risk evaluation for genotoxic carcinogens is proposed, based on mechanistic knowledge regarding the substance (group) under investigation, and taking into account recent improvements in analytical techniques used to quantify DNA lesions and mutations as well as “omics” approaches.
Journal ArticleDOI
Characterization of color mutants in lacZ plasmid-based transgenic mice, as detected by positive selection.
Martijn E.T. Dollé,Martijn E.T. Dollé,Hans Jörg Martus,Maja Novak,Nathalie J. Van Orsouw,Jan Vijg +5 more
TL;DR: The results indicate that color mutants are caused neither by the presence of a mixture of wild-type and mutated lacZ plasmids within the same host cell nor by a combination of cells within the original mutant colony which carry either wild- type or mutated lac Z plasmid copies.
Journal ArticleDOI
Correction to: Mode of action-based risk assessment of genotoxic carcinogens.
Andrea Hartwig,Michael Arand,Bernd Epe,Sabine Guth,Gunnar Jahnke,Alfonso Lampen,Hans Jörg Martus,Bernhard H. Monien,Ivonne M.C.M. Rietjens,Simone Schmitz-Spanke,G. Schriever‐Schwemmer,Pablo Steinberg,Gerhard Eisenbrand +12 more
TL;DR: The author would like to thank N. Bakhiya, S. Hessel-Pras, B. Sachse, and B. Dusemund for their support in the chapter about pyrrolizidine alkaloids.
