Journal ArticleDOI
SPINK1, PRSS1, CTRC, and CFTR Genotypes Influence Disease Onset and Clinical Outcomes in Chronic Pancreatitis.
Wen-Bin Zou,Xin-Ying Tang,Daizhan Zhou,Yang-Yang Qian,Liang-Hao Hu,Fei-Fei Yu,Dong Yu,Hao Wu,Shun-Jiang Deng,Jin-Huan Lin,An-Jing Zhao,Zhen-Hua Zhao,Hong-Yu Wu,Jia-Hui Zhu,Wei Qian,Lei Wang,Lei Xin,Min-Jun Wang,Li-Juan Wang,Xue Fang,Lin He,Emmanuelle Masson,David Neil Cooper,Claude Férec,Zhao-Shen Li,Jian-Min Chen,Zhuan Liao +26 more
TL;DR: Evidence is provided that rare pathogenic variants in the SPINK1, PRSS1, CTRC, and CFTR genes significantly influence the age of onset and clinical outcomes of CP.
Journal ArticleDOI
No Association Between CEL-HYB Hybrid Allele and Chronic Pancreatitis in Asian Populations.
Wen Bin Zou,Arnaud Boulling,Arnaud Boulling,Atsushi Masamune,Prachand Issarapu,Emmanuelle Masson,Hao Wu,Xiao Tian Sun,Liang Hao Hu,Daizhan Zhou,Lin He,Yann Fichou,Eriko Nakano,Shin Hamada,Yoichi Kakuta,Kiyoshi Kume,Hiroyuki Isayama,Sumit Paliwal,K. TL;DR: A hybrid allele between the carboxyl ester lipase gene (CEL) and its pseudogene, CELP (called CEL-HYB), generated by nonallelic homologous recombination between CEL intron 10 andCELP intron10', was found to increase susceptibility to chronic pancreatitis in a case-control study of patients of European ancestry, but it was failed to detect in 3 independent cohorts from China, Japan, and India.
Journal ArticleDOI
Prevention of severe acute pancreatitis with octreotide in obese patients: a prospective multi-center randomized controlled trial.
Fan Yang,Hao Wu,Yanqing Li,Zhao-Shen Li,Chunhui Wang,Jin-lin Yang,Bing Hu,Zhiyin Huang,Rui Ji,Xianbao Zhan,Huizhong Xie,Lei Wang,Ming-Guang Zhang,Chengwei Tang +13 more
TL;DR: Intravenous administration of octreotide for 72 hours in the early stage of AP could prevent the development of SAP effectively in obese patients by raising plasma somatostatin to a normal level and reducing circulating cytokines.
Book ChapterDOI
The Current Main Types of Capsule Endoscopy
Zhao-Shen Li,Dan Carter,Rami Eliakim,Wen-Bin Zou,Hao Wu,Zhuan Liao,Zhaotao Gong,Jin-Shan Wang,Joo Won Chung,Si Young Song,Guohua Xiao,Xiaodong Duan,Xinhong Wang +12 more
TL;DR: The first video capsule endoscope was introduced in 2001 by Iddan as a new tool for the investigation of the small bowel and various studies have shown the potential of this minimally invasive technique to improve diagnostic outcome s among a variety of gastrointestinal (GI) conditions.
Journal ArticleDOI
No significant enrichment of rare functionally defective CPA1 variants in a large Chinese idiopathic chronic pancreatitis cohort
Hao Wu,Daizhan Zhou,Dorottya Berki,Andrea Geisz,Wen-Bin Zou,Xiao-Tian Sun,Liang-Hao Hu,Zhen-Hua Zhao,An-Jing Zhao,Lin He,David Neil Cooper,Claude Férec,Jian-Min Chen,Jian-Min Chen,Zhao-Shen Li,Miklós Sahin-Tóth,Zhuan Liao +16 more
TL;DR: Target next‐generation sequencing of the CPA1 gene was performed in 1,112 Han Chinese idiopathic chronic pancreatitis patients and 1,580 controls, and no significant association was noted with ICP irrespective of whether all rare variants or functionally impaired variants were considered.
