Abstract: Considering the importance that entrepreneurship takes in the economies of most countries, the aim of this study was to compare two different geographical areas, studying the characteristics and variables of entrepreneurship that act as driving forces in the creation of new businesses. So, two locations from the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) database were identified and categorized, namely Latin America (LA) and Western Europe (WE). Nine dimensions were selected, in order to test and clarify distinguishing patterns in these two locations in terms of entrepreneurial propensity.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors identified the state of the art on publications related to business marketing over the past 10 years (2010-2020) and available in the SCOPUS database, and found that the majority of the publications and citations about entrepreneurial marketing are from the year 2020 (378 articles), respectively, with 17 citations.
Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to identify the state of the art on publications related to “Business Marketing” over the past 10 years (2010–2020) and available in the SCOPUS database.,In this research, a bibliometric study on entrepreneurial marketing (EM) was performed. The articles were selected from the SCOPUS database and dated from January 1, 2010 to July 11, 2020.,In total, 124 articles on the area of business management were identified, they are written in English. Through the systematization of these articles, it was found that the majority of the publications and citations about EM are from the year 2020 (378 articles), respectively, with 17 citations. The Journal of Research in Marketing and Entrepreneurship was the most published on the subject and obtained the highest number of citations over the past 10 years. The authors that obtained the highest number of citations were: Jones and Rowley (2011b) with 101 citations and Mort et al. (2012) with 71 citations. It was also possible to identify four clusters: “entrepreneurial orientation”; “customer strategy”; “market orientation” and “innovative entrepreneurship and marketing.”,This paper reinforces the coherence and scientific structure of the current literature. The systematization of the concepts we present can be used by managers to define strategies and policies in EM planning.,This research gives special emphasis to the publications over the past 10 years, related to the management area and focused on the term “Entrepreneurship Marketing,” aiming to identify publication trends. Another innovation from this research is the usage of a single database, for the case SCOPUS. Moreover, the authors also reveal a current agenda with future lines of research in EM, which will serve as a starting point to prepare other studies in this area.

Abstract: This study aims to provide a meaningful contribution to the theoretical field of entrepreneurial marketing (EM), by listing a conceptual systematization of the EM field, considering its evolution in recent decades. An extensive search has been carried out in the database Web of Science with the term "Entrepr * Marketing". The selection included the years from 1900 to 2016, in English and Portuguese and the research was conducted on 12 December 2016. It was compiled a bibliography of all publications related to the research (49 articles), in this database. The systematization of concepts presented can be used by managers in defining strategy and planning policies of EM. Our findings detail three clusters in EM research, which help in contextualising the literature review: (1) cluster 1 - entrepreneurial marketing process; (2) cluster 2 - international new venture; (3) cluster 3 - entrepreneurial orientation. This work contributes to a better understanding of the concepts, their thread in the theoretical field, its evolution in recent decades, listing a conceptual systematization. This study seeks to convey a large theoretical basis that may serve as the point of departure for future studies.

TL;DR: In this paper, a qualitative approach was used to identify the HRM practices present in the creation of micro and small firms, as well as in their development, and characterise the needs of professional training and new competences.
Abstract: Practices of human resource management (HRM) have an impact on business efforts, making the acceptance of risks and innovation more pro-active. It therefore becomes necessary to understand and identify the HRM practices present in the creation of micro and small firms, as well as in their development, and characterise the needs of professional training and new competences. From a qualitative approach, in four micro and small firms, business-people and collaborators were interviewed to identify the specific HRM practices present at the beginning of activity in this type of organisation. Data treatment was through content analysis. Analysis of the organisation’s creation and development stages identified as critical HRM practices recruitment and selection and professional training. Performance assessment was identified at the time of firm development, increasing in formalization and complexity over time and as the number of collaborators grows. The formalization of rewards and bonuses is affected by increased firm size, at the two stages. At the moment of creating the firm, training actions in financial management and HRM are necessary. Organisational development requires technical competences in each area of business, and also continuity and deepening of the areas of overall management and human resource development.

TL;DR: A selection of the most significant published work on entrepreneurship and regional economic growth can be found in this paper, where the authors argue that technological change can be regarded as the most important factor in long-run macroeconomic growth.
Abstract: Entrepreneurship and regional development can be addressed from many different angles: clusters, creativity and human capital. Professor Acs, a distinguished researcher in this field, approaches this debate through technology. Technological change can be regarded as the most important factor in long-run macroeconomic growth. It has been argued in new growth theory that the technological element of the growth process results from the profit-motivated choices of economic agents. This important volume makes an essential contribution to this debate by presenting an authoritative selection of the most significant published work on entrepreneurship and regional economic growth.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed a framework with five hypotheses, which predicts the influences of knowledge sharing and organizational innovation on the Pakistani banking sector, and the findings indicate that all of the proposed hypotheses have significant positive relationships.
Abstract: This research is among the very few studies seeking a focalized examination on the relationship between knowledge sharing within a firm and organizational innovation. This specific study establishes that the knowledge sharing and innovation processes in Islamic banks are integral parts of the survival and progress of business organizations. Knowledge sharing and creativity are essential elements in the development of innovative strategies, but few studies have sought to investigate this relationship. This study proposes a framework with five hypotheses, which predicts the influences of knowledge sharing and organizational innovation on the Pakistani banking sector. This survey scrutinizes the impacts of knowledge sharing and innovation, and its primary objective is to determine how learning in Islamic banks mediates the relationship, and enhances the performance, of Pakistani Islamic banks. The authors distributed a self-administered survey, and randomly selected 554 employees from Mirpur AJ&K, Rawalpindi and Islamabad, Pakistan. We screened and tested the data received using SPSS version 25 for analysis purposes to measure the strength of the relationships which exist among the studied variables. The findings indicate that all of the proposed hypotheses have significant positive relationships, proving that knowledge sharing and organizational innovation have mediating impacts upon organizational learning. The findings can also be used to propose a systematic and holistic framework for attaining an improved performance in Islamic banks through the mediating role of organizational learning. This study offers empirical evidence and original data to examine the connection between knowledge sharing, innovation processes and learning culture in Islamic Banks. The generalizability of these findings is restricted to Islamic banks, and the study delivers valuable insights and suggestions for imminent research studies.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors identify the positive, proactive response to globalisation-the entrepreneurial society, where change is the cutting edge and routine work is inevitably outsourced, and the role of the university has accordingly shifted from tangential to a highly valued seedbed for coveted new ideas with the potential to create breathtaking new ventures, but also entire new industries.
Abstract: Previous generations enjoyed the security of lifelong employment with a sole employer. Public policy and social institutions reinforced that security by producing a labor force content with mechanized repetition in manufacturing plants, and creating loyalty to one employer for life. This is no longer the case. Globalisation and new technologies have triggered a shift away from capital and toward knowledge. In today's global economy, where jobs and factories can be moved quickly to low-cost locations, the competitive advantage has shifted to ideas, insights, and innovation. But it is not enough just to have new ideas. It takes entrepreneurs to actualize them by championing them to society. Entrepreneurship has emerged as the proactive response to globalisation. This study identifies the positive, proactive response to globalisation-the entrepreneurial society, where change is the cutting edge and routine work is inevitably outsourced. Under the managed economy of the cold war era, government policies around the world supported big business, while small business was deemed irrelevant and largely ignored. This presentation explains the fundamental policy revolution under way, shifting the focus to technology and knowledge-based entrepreneurship, where start-ups and small business have emerged as the driving force of innovation, jobs, competitiveness and growth. The role of the university has accordingly shifted from tangential to a highly valued seedbed for coveted new ideas with the potential to create not just breathtaking new ventures, but also entire new industries. By understanding the shift from the managed economy and the emergence of the entrepreneurial society, individuals, businesses, and communities can learn how to proactively harness the opportunities afforded by globalisation in this new entrepreneurial society.
