TL;DR: In this paper, a nickel-alloy layer is formed on a lead frame made of a material which consists chiefly of copper as a base material, a pellet is then mounted, and a resin is applied to form a package.
Abstract: A nickel-alloy layer is formed on a lead frame made of a material which consists chiefly of copper as a base material, a pellet is then mounted, and a resin is applied thereto to form a package. Then, a copper layer or an alloy layer of copper and 0.05 to 0.2% by weight of zinc is formed on said nickel-containing alloy layer of the external lead portions. A solder layer is then formed on the copper layer or on the zinc-copper alloy layer that is formed on the external lead portions. With the thus formed semiconductor device, the resin exhibits increased adhesiveness relative to the tab and lead frame in the package. Therefore, peeling is prevented from occurring on the interface between the resin and the tab or lead frame. Further, no brittle intermetallic compound is formed by the heating in the metal layer such as the solder layer on the external lead portions. Accordingly, the metal layer is effectively prevented from peeling off.

TL;DR: In this paper, a plurality of semiconductor chips are mounted on a single wiring board, and the whole space around the chips, sandwiched between the wiring board and the heat spread plate, is filled with resin.
Abstract: In a multi-chip module, a plurality of semiconductor chips are mounted on a single wiring board. Upper surfaces of the semiconductor chips are covered with a single heat spread plate, and the whole space around the semiconductor chips, sandwiched between the wiring board and the heat spread plate, is filled with resin. The semiconductor chips are interconnected through the resin so that any stress exerted on any chips is dispersed. This diminishes the occurrence of cracks caused by stress concentration. Since the semiconductor chips and the heat spread plate are bonded together with resin, even if there are variations in size of the chips, both can be bonded easily. Further, the bonding of all the chips and the heat spread plate can be done in a single process.

TL;DR: In this paper, a new type of fault current limiter (FCL) utilizing series LC resonance circuit composed of a superconducting coil and a capacitor is proposed, which suppress the rapid increase of a fault current by its energy storing capacity.
Abstract: A new type of fault current limiter (FCL) utilizing series LC resonance circuit composed of a superconducting coil and a capacitor is proposed. The superconducting coil is wound by Bi-2223/Ag HTS tape conductor. The new FCL can suppress the rapid increase of a fault current by its energy storing capacity. Both theoretical analysis and experiments are carried out. The experimental result shows the current limiting ability of this FCL. The obtained experimental result agrees well with the theoretical one

TL;DR: In this article, the oxide semiconductor film has at least a crystallized region in a channel region, which is defined as a region of interest (ROI) for a semiconductor device.
Abstract: An object is to provide a semiconductor device of which a manufacturing process is not complicated and by which cost can be suppressed, by forming a thin film transistor using an oxide semiconductor film typified by zinc oxide, and a manufacturing method thereof. For the semiconductor device, a gate electrode is formed over a substrate; a gate insulating film is formed covering the gate electrode; an oxide semiconductor film is formed over the gate insulating film; and a first conductive film and a second conductive film are formed over the oxide semiconductor film. The oxide semiconductor film has at least a crystallized region in a channel region.

TL;DR: In this article, an electronic program schedule system with access to both stored television program schedule information and data feeds containing status information for live programs such as sporting events is presented, where a video display generator is used to generate a display signal simultaneously comprising information from both the stored schedule and the received data feed.
Abstract: An electronic program schedule system with access to both stored television program schedule information and data feeds containing status information for live programs such as sporting events. The system includes a data processor for receiving program schedule information for a plurality of programs and data feeds containing status information for certain of the programs, and a video display generator for generating a display signal simultaneously comprising information from both the stored schedule information and the received data feed. The system is further provided with user control means such as a remote controller for generating user control commands and transmitting signals to the data processor in response thereto so as to control the content of the display signal. The display signal may be displayed on a display apparatus such as a television receiver. In addition, the program schedule system of the present invention utilizes category-specific user interfaces providing access to multiple services including television programs, received data feeds, home shopping services, and video games as well as the stored program schedule information.
