The EGS5 code system
Hideo Hirayama,Yoshihito Namito,Oho Tsukuba-shi Ibaraki-ken,Alex F. Bielajew,Scott J. Wilderman +4 more
TL;DR: With the release of the EGS4 version, a deliberate attempt was made to present example problems in order to help the user ''get started'', and that spirit is followed in this report.
Journal ArticleDOI
Implementation of the Doppler broadening of a Compton-scattered photon into the EGS4 code
TL;DR: In this paper, a modification to the general-purpose Monte Carlo electron-photon transport code EGS4 was made in order to include Doppler broadening of Compton-scattered photon energy due to electron pre-collision motion.
Journal ArticleDOI
Implementation of linearly-polarized photon scattering into the EGS4 code
TL;DR: In this article, a modification to the general-purpose Monte Carlo electron-photon transport code EGS4 was made in order to include linear polarization in the simulation of photon scattering.
Journal ArticleDOI
Radiation damage in silicon microstrip detectors
T. Ohsugi,A. Taketani,M. Noda,Y. Chiba,M. Asai,Takahiko Kondo,Toru Sato,Minoru Takasaki,Kazuhiro Tanaka,Kenjiro Kondo,Hideo Hirayama,K. Yamamoto,Hitoshi Tanaka +12 more
TL;DR: In this article, a radiation damage effect on silicon strip detectors of pn-junction type is investigated using a high energy proton beam using a few Mrads of radiation, and several variations of strip detectors with different surface structures were made and tested.
