Journal ArticleDOI

Hydroxyapatite nanowires modified polylactic acid membrane plays barrier/osteoinduction dual roles and promotes bone regeneration in a rat mandible defect model.

TL;DR: A new kind of hydroxyapatite (HAp) nanowires modified polylactic acid (PLA) membrane is introduced to achieve barrier/osteoinduction dual functions and would be a promising biomaterial in tissue engineering for bone regeneration due to its barrier and osteoinductive dual functions.
Journal ArticleDOI

Discovery of novel dual-action antidiabetic agents that inhibit glycogen phosphorylase and activate glucokinase.

TL;DR: Dual-target-directed agents simultaneously inhibiting glycogen phosphorylase and activating glucokinase could decelerate the inflow of glucose from glycogenolysis and accelerate the outflow of glucose in the liver, therefore allow for a better control over hyperglycaemia in a synergetic manner.
Journal ArticleDOI

One-pot, large-scale synthesis of Nickel(II) complexes derived from 2-[N-(alpha-picolyl)amino]benzophenone (PABP) and alpha- or beta-amino acids.

TL;DR: A one-pot, large-scale procedure for preparing the Belokon-Soloshonok nucleophilic glycine equivalent 2-[N-(alpha-picolyl)amino]benzophenone (PABP) derived Ni(II) complex [GlyNi( II)PABP] is described.
Journal ArticleDOI

Synthesis and Anti-HIV-1 Activity Evaluation for Novel 3a,6a-Dihydro-1H-pyrrolo[3,4-c]pyrazole-4,6-dione Derivatives.

TL;DR: 35 novel compounds with improved biological activities against HIV-1 are designed using the recently disclosed 1-[2-(4-fluorophenyl)ethyl]-pyrrole-2,5-dione scaffolds to design 35 novel compounds that have potential as lead compounds for further optimization into clinical anti-HIV-1 agents.
