In recent years, steganography and steganalysis are two important areas of research that involve a number of applications. These two areas of research are important especially when reliable and secure information exchange is required. Steganography is an art of embedding information in a cover image without causing statistically significant variations to the cover image. Steganalysis is the technology that attempts to defeat steganography by detecting the hidden information and extracting. In this paper we propose an image steganography that can verify the reliability of the information being transmitted to the receiver. The method can verify whether the attacker has tried to edit, delete or forge the secret information in the stego-image. The technique embeds the hidden information in the spatial domain of the cover image and uses two special AC coefficients of the discrete wavelet transform domain to verify the veracity (integrity) of the secret information from the stego image. The analysis shows that the BER and PSNR is improved in the case of DWT than DCT.

Authentication of secret information in image Steganography

Steganography is an art and science of writing hidden messages in such a way that no one apart from the intended recipient kn ows the existence of the message.The maximum number of bits that can be used for LSB audio steganography without causing noticeabl e perceptual distortion to the host audio signal is 4 LSBs, if 16 bits per sample audio sequences are used.We propose two novel approaches of substit ution technique of audio steganography that improves the capacity of cover audio for embedding additional data. Using these methods, message bits are embedded into multiple and variable LSBs. These methods utilize upto 7 LSBs for embedding data.Results show that both these methods improve capacity of data hiding of cover audio by 35% to 70% as compared to the standerd LSB algorithm with 4 LSBs used for data embedding. And using encryption and decryption techniques performing cryptography. So for this RSA algorithm used.

Hiding text in audio using multiple lsb steganography and provide security using cryptography

In this paper, we propose an audio steganographic scheme based on wavelet audio-to-image transform. The scheme converts the audio steganographic issue into well-explored image steganographic one. In the scheme, the host audio signal is transformed into image, the covert data are embedded in the image by an image steganographic scheme and finally, the image is transformed back into audio signal. The performance of the proposed scheme under MP3 compression is shown in the experimental results

Audio-to-image wavelet transform based audio steganography

A steganographic method of embedding textual information in an audio file is presented in this paper. In the proposed technique, first the audio file is sampled and then an appropriate bit of each alternate sample is altered to embed the textual information. As a steganographic approach the perceptual quality of the host audio signal was not to be degraded.

On Embedding of Text in Audio A Case of Steganography

Random numbers are used in a wide variety of applications from simulation and encryption to gambling and clinical trials. A good quality random number generator is an asset for applications like encryption, randomized designs and network and information security. Various mathematical models have been developed in the past to improve the quality of random numbers. It can be construed that in general to obtain random numbers of excellent quality, a complex mathematical model has to be used which can be a performance bottleneck. In this work, we propose a novel technique to implement a True Random Number Generator (TRNG) using sources of uncertainty found within Graphics Processing Units (GPUs) together with histogram equalization to obtain maximum entropy. We evaluate the random numbers generated by our approach using four tests. First, we measure the correlation values between two sequences of random numbers, second, we measure the entropy values, third, we use watermarking, an application used in network security and finally we use Monte Carlo analysis for pi-value calculation. Based on these quality measurements, our method has achieved better results than popular random number generators compared in this work. Furthermore, this approach is a massively scalable solution ideal for high performance computing implementations.

True Random Number Generator Using GPUs and Histogram Equalization Techniques

In this paper, a new scheme for image steganography is presented. The proposed scheme has the ability to hide secret message in a digital image. We call the scheme the pattern-based image steganography (PBIS). First, PBIS does discrete wavelet transformation (DWT) on the digital image; separates the transformation result into nonoverlapping blocks, and classifies the wavelet coefficients of these blocks into several patterns. The secret message is embedded into the image by changing the coefficients' patterns. The performance and reliability of PBIS are shown in the experimental results. The quality of the stego image of the proposed scheme is very close to that of the original one. Moreover, our scheme can be survived under JPEG lossy compression.

An effective image steganographic scheme based on wavelet transformation and pattern-based modification

In this paper, a new progressive image transmission (PIT) method is presented. The proposed method is derived from block truncation coding (BTC), which is a simple and fast image compression method in the spatial domain. We add the progressive ability to the traditional BTC method so that it can transmit an image progressively. In this method, we firstly encode an image into a binary tree. The nodes of the binary tree is constructed by BTC and, moreover, in each phase of PIT, we transmit all nodes of the corresponding level of the binary tree to the receiver. The receiver can reconstruct a rough image according to the received messages. This rough image is similar to the original. Moreover, the similarity will be improved phase by phase. In the experiments, we compare the proposed method with the bit plane method (BPM) since both BPM and the proposed method belong to the same category of bipartite approach. The results show that the proposed method has the lower bit rate and the higher reconstructed image quality than those of BPM in each phase.

A Progressive Image Transmission Scheme Based on Block Truncation Coding

This paper describes a new watermarking scheme for embedding a copyright watermark into a host image to protect it. In the proposed scheme, we classify the sixteen combination of binary digit of size four into four groups. We call each combination a pattern and assign a two bit value to each pattern. We embed the corresponding patterns of the watermark into the host image instead of embedding the watermark directly and obtain a better quality of the watermarked image. The experimental results show that the watermark can be extracted properly under several image processing and destroying operations.
