Journal ArticleDOI
Simulations of the formation, evolution and clustering of galaxies and quasars
Volker Springel,Simon D. M. White,Adrian Jenkins,Carlos S. Frenk,Naoki Yoshida,Liang Gao,Julio F. Navarro,Robert J. Thacker,Darren J. Croton,John C. Helly,John A. Peacock,Shaun Cole,Peter A. Thomas,Hugh M. P. Couchman,August E. Evrard,Jörg M. Colberg,Frazers Pearce +16 more
TL;DR: It is shown that baryon-induced features in the initial conditions of the Universe are reflected in distorted form in the low-redshift galaxy distribution, an effect that can be used to constrain the nature of dark energy with future generations of observational surveys of galaxies.
Journal ArticleDOI
Stable clustering, the halo model and non-linear cosmological power spectra
Robert E. Smith,Robert E. Smith,John A. Peacock,Adrian Jenkins,Simon D. M. White,Carlos S. Frenk,Frazer R. Pearce,Peter A. Thomas,George Efstathiou,Hugh M. P. Couchman +9 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present the results of a large library of cosmological N-body simulations, using power-law initial spectra, for the first order cosmologies.
Journal ArticleDOI
The mass function of dark matter haloes
Adrian Jenkins,Carlos S. Frenk,Simon D. M. White,Jörg M. Colberg,Shaun Cole,August E. Evrard,Hugh M. P. Couchman,Naoki Yoshida +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors combine data from a number of N-body simulations to predict the abundance of dark halos in cold dark matter (CDM) universes over more than four orders of magnitude in mass.
Journal ArticleDOI

Evolution of Structure in Cold Dark Matter Universes
Adrian Jenkins,Carlos S. Frenk,Frazer R. Pearce,Frazer R. Pearce,Peter A. Thomas,J. M. Colberg,Simon D. M. White,Hugh M. P. Couchman,John A. Peacock,George Efstathiou,A. H. Nelson +10 more
TL;DR: In this article, a suite of high-resolution, 17 million particle, N-body simulations that sample volumes large enough to give clustering statistics with unprecedented accuracy is presented. And the authors present an analysis of the clustering evolution of dark matter in four cold dark matter (CDM) cosmologies.
