Characterization of sustainable mortar containing high-quality recycled manufactured sand crushed from recycled coarse aggregate

TL;DR: In this paper , an innovative and viable approach is proposed to crush recycled coarse aggregate into recycled manufactured sand, which has high quality properties similar to the manufactured sand crushed from natural stone, for preparing high-quality recycled mortar with high strength and good durability.
Journal ArticleDOI

Chloride transport and induced steel corrosion in recycled aggregate concrete: A review

TL;DR: In this article, a critical review of chloride transport in RAC, and the induced steel corrosion behaviour and cracking patterns of reinforced RAC are introduced, and related modification methods are further discussed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Chloride permeability of concrete mixed with activity recycled powder obtained from C&D waste

TL;DR: In this paper, a comprehensive experiment to study the fundamental characteristics and chloride permeability of RPC was conducted, and the results highlight the addition of RP, with a high fineness and activity, improves the hydration reaction and reduces the concrete's porosity, and concrete compressive strength slightly increases when the RP replacement ratio is 15%.
Journal ArticleDOI

Water transport and resistance improvement for the cementitious composites with eco-friendly powder from various concrete wastes

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the impact of the substitution rate and particle size on the water transport in cementitious composites, and the feasible methods of improving water transport resistance were further investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Utilizing thermal activation treatment to improve the properties of waste cementitious powder and its newmade cementitious materials

TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the utilization of thermal activation treatment in improving the properties of waste cementitious powder and its new-made mortar, and they found that when the thermal activation temperature on waste powder is 600-800°C, the properties were better than those of mortar with un-treated waste powder, and specifically, the activity index of waste paste powder ranges from 71.7% to 90.1% when the activation temperature ranges from 20°C to 600ÂC.
