Journal ArticleDOI
Preoperative assessment of gastric carcinoma: value of two-phase dynamic CT with mechanical iv. injection of contrast material.
TL;DR: The findings show that two-phase incremental dynamic CT with mechanical IV injection of a bolus of contrast medium after oral intake of water improves the diagnostic accuracy of CT over that provided by conventional CT in the preoperative staging of gastric cancers.
Journal ArticleDOI
Epigenetic inactivation of protein kinase D1 in gastric cancer and its role in gastric cancer cell migration and invasion
Mirang Kim,Hay Ran Jang,Jeong-Hwan Kim,Seung Moo Noh,Kyu Sang Song,June Sik Cho,Hyun Yong Jeong,Jim C. Norman,Patrick T. Caswell,Gyeong Hoon Kang,Seon-Young Kim,Hyang Sook Yoo,Yong Sung Kim +12 more
TL;DR: It is proposed that PKD1 is frequently silenced by epigenetic regulation, which plays a role in cell migration and metastasis in gastric cancer.
Journal ArticleDOI
Frequent silencing of popeye domain-containing genes, BVES and POPDC3, is associated with promoter hypermethylation in gastric cancer.
Mirang Kim,Hay-Ran Jang,Keeok Haam,Tae-Wook Kang,Jeong-Hwan Kim,Seon-Young Kim,Seung-Moo Noh,Kyu-Sang Song,June-Sik Cho,Hyun Yong Jeong,Jin Cheon Kim,Hyang-Sook Yoo,Yong Sung Kim +12 more
TL;DR: Epigenetic inactivation of BVES and POPDC3 occurs frequently in gastric tumors and may promote gastric cancer cell migration and invasion.
Journal ArticleDOI
LRRC3B, Encoding a Leucine-Rich Repeat-Containing Protein, Is a Putative Tumor Suppressor Gene in Gastric Cancer
Mirang Kim,Jeong-Hwan Kim,Hay-Ran Jang,Hwan-Mook Kim,Changwoo Lee,Seung-Moo Noh,Kyu-Sang Song,June-Sik Cho,Hyun Yong Jeong,Yoonsoo Hahn,Young-Il Yeom,Hyang-Sook Yoo,Yong Sung Kim +12 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that LRRC3B is a putative tumor suppressor gene that is silenced in gastric cancers by epigenetic mechanisms and that LR RC3B silencing in cancer may play an important role in tumor escape from immune surveillance.
Journal ArticleDOI
Epigenetic Down-Regulation and Suppressive Role of DCBLD2 in Gastric Cancer Cell Proliferation and Invasion
Mirang Kim,Kyung Tae Lee,Hay-Ran Jang,Jeong-Hwan Kim,Seung-Moo Noh,Kyu-Sang Song,June-Sik Cho,Hyun Yong Jeong,Seon-Young Kim,Hyang-Sook Yoo,Yong Sung Kim +10 more
TL;DR: Down-regulation of DCBLD2, often associated with promoter hypermethylation, is a frequent event that may be related to the development of gastric cancer.
