This book by a teacher of statistics (as well as a consultant for \"experimenters\") is a comprehensive study of the philosophical background for the statistical design of experiment. It is necessary to have some facility with algebraic notation and manipulation to be able to use the volume intelligently. The problems are presented from the theoretical point of view, without such practical examples as would be helpful for those not acquainted with mathematics. The mathematical justification for the techniques is given. As a somewhat advanced treatment of the design and analysis of experiments, this volume will be interesting and helpful for many who approach statistics theoretically as well as practically. With emphasis on the \"why,\" and with description given broadly, the author relates the subject matter to the general theory of statistics and to the general problem of experimental inference. The objective of this paper is to give a comprehensive introduction to applied cryptography with an engineer or computer scientist in mind. The emphasis is on the knowledge needed to create practical systems which supports integrity, confidentiality, or authenticity. Topics covered includes an introduction to the concepts in cryptography, attacks against cryptographic systems, key use and handling, random bit generation, encryption modes, and message authentication codes. Recommendations on algorithms and further reading is given in the end of the paper. Smartphones as smart pedagogical tools: Implications for smartphones as u-learning devices

Disclosed is a system and a method for automatically classifying search results. The system includes a search engine server for obtaining and providing search results with regard to a search word entered by the user, grouping the obtained search results according to meanings of the search word, and providing the grouped search results; a related word database for storing related words classified into groups according to meanings of the search word; and a group determination system for receiving search results from the search engine server, comparing the contents of the search results with the related words stored in the related word database to determine which group of the related word database the search results belong to, and storing search results at a predetermined place when the search results are not grouped.

System and method for automatically classifying search results

Gateways are emerging as a key element of bringing legacy and next generation devices to the Internet of Things (IoT). They integrate protocols for networking, help manage storage and edge analytics on the data, and facilitate data flow securely between edge devices and the cloud. Current IoT gateways solve the communication gap between field control/sensor nodes and customer cloud, enabling field data to be harnessed for manufacturing process optimization, remote management, and preventive maintenance. However, these gateways do not support fully-automatic configuration of newly added IoT devices. In this paper, we proposed a self-configurable gateway featuring real time detection and configuration of smart things over the wireless networks. This novel gateway’s main features are: dynamic discovery of home IoT device(s), automatic updates of hardware changes, connection management of smart things connected over AllJoyn. We use the ‘option’ field for automatic configuration of IoT devices rather than modify standard format of CoAP protocol. Proposed gateway functionality has been validated over the large-scale IoT testbed.

Internet of Everything: A Large-Scale Autonomic IoT Gateway

Smart TV STV, a new digital television service, has been rapidly developing, particularly in Korea. With the conceptual model of interactivity, this study empirically investigates the effects of perceived interactivity on the motivations and attitudes towards STV in Korea. The model is created to validate the relationship of perceived interactivity to performance, attitude and intention. Further, the model examines the mediating roles of perceived interactivity in the effect of performance on attitude towards STV. Empirical evidence supports the mediating role of perceived interactivity. Implications of the findings are discussed in terms of building a theory of interactivity and providing practical insights into developing a user-centred STV interface.
