Journal ArticleDOI

TIG welding with single-component fluxes

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors evaluated the use of activated flux TIG (ATIG) welding for the austenitic stainless steels with fluxes of only one major component and found that even the very simple flux that was used can greatly increase the penetration of the weld bead.
Journal ArticleDOI

Tailoring the morphology and properties of waterborne polyurethanes by the procedure of cellulose nanocrystal incorporation

TL;DR: In this paper, a two-step prepolymerized polyurethane water-borne synthesis was performed using a two step method, commonly referred to as a prepolymers method, and the morphology, structural, thermal and mechanical properties of the resulting nanocomposite films were evaluated by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), small angle X-ray scattering (SAXS), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and tensile tests.
Journal ArticleDOI

The morphology and phase mixing studies on poly(ester–urethane) during shape memory cycle

TL;DR: In this article, three series of shape memory poly(ester-urethane) with varying hard-segment contents were synthesized and the materials were designed to display a three-phase structure consisting of a disperse phase formed by crystallites and hard domains embedded in an amorphous matrix.
Journal ArticleDOI

Creep behavior of AE42 based hybrid composites

TL;DR: Magnesium alloy based hybrid composites with varying levels of δ-alumina short fibers (Saffilf®) and SiC particles (SiCp) reinforcements have been prepared by the squeeze casting technique as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI

Study of the Morphology Exhibited by Linear Segmented Polyurethanes

TL;DR: In this article, five series of segmented polyurethanes with different hard segment content were prepared by the prepolymer mixing method, and the nano-morphology of the obtained polyurethsanes and their microphase separation were investigated by infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), modulated differential scanning calorimetry (MDSC), and small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS).
