Journal ArticleDOI

The Roles of Matrix Metalloproteinases and Their Inhibitors in Human Diseases.

TL;DR: In this article, a review of the role of matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) and TIMPs in physiological processes and how their abnormal regulation is associated with human diseases is presented.
Journal ArticleDOI

Diabetic Foot Ulcers: Current Advances in Antimicrobial Therapies and Emerging Treatments

TL;DR: The currently available approaches in the managing and treatment of DFUs are compiled, including molecular and regenerative medicine, antimicrobial and energy-based therapies, and the use of plant extracts, antimacterial peptides, growth factors, ozone, devices, and nano-medicine to offer an overview of the assessment of this condition.
Journal ArticleDOI

Current Therapeutic Strategies in Diabetic Foot Ulcers.

TL;DR: This review focuses on the current treatment strategies for DFUs with a special emphasis on tissue engineering techniques and regenerative medicine that collectively target all components of chronic wound pathology.
Journal ArticleDOI

Analyses of chondrogenic induction of adipose mesenchymal stem cells by combined co- stimulation mediated by adenoviral gene transfer

TL;DR: Combined overexpression of IGF-1/FGF-2 within ASCs enhances their chondrogenic differentiation inducing the expression of chondrogensic markers, suggesting that this combination is more beneficial than the other factors tested for the development of cell-based therapies for cartilage repair.
