Journal ArticleDOI
Review of propulsion systems on LNG carriers
TL;DR: The main characteristics of the propulsion systems, and the advantages and drawbacks that come along with these, from its very beginnings up to the systems installed to date are described in this article.
Journal ArticleDOI
H-2 production by the steam reforming of excess boil off gas on LNG vessels
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed hydrogen production through a steam reforming plant, using the excess BOG as raw material and thus avoiding it being burned in the Gas Combustion Unit without any energy use.
Journal ArticleDOI
Generation of h2 on board lng vessels for consumption in the propulsion system
TL;DR: In this paper, a review of the different H2 storage systems and the methods of burning it in propulsion engines is presented to demonstrate the energetic viability of H2 on board LNG vessels.
Journal ArticleDOI
Energy efficiency and environmental measures for Floating Storage Regasification Units
TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed design and operation indicators for the assessment of floating storage regasification unit (FSRU) energy efficiency and carbon footprint, and applied them to the study of five regascification systems: seawater system without recondenser, open-loop propane system, closed-loop water-glycol system, openloop system with organic rankine cycle (ORC), and open-label system with ORC.
